Last Friday, the remains of Classic FM popular presenter, Sylvester Ojigbede a.k.a Sly, was buried. The 37 yr old Edo born dude was buried at the Ikoyi cemetery after a funeral mass which held earlier in the day at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Victoria Island, Lagos. A day earlier, there was a Christian wake keep at Kings College Annex, Victoria Island, Lagos. Many of those who were at the cemetery could not hold back tears as they wailed endlessly. They include family members, Sly’s colleagues at Classic FM and loads of his ardent fans on Radio. They all trooped out in large numbers to see their idol being committed to mother earth. This is because many of them did not believe Sly was indeed gone.

It can be recalled that Oshiomhole’s lost his first wife Clara in December 2010 after a long fight with cancer. She was 54 years old.

Burundi General Declares Coup Against President Nkurunziza Who is in Tanzania
A Burundi army general says President Pierre Nkurunziza has been "overthrown" amid unrest over his bid to be re-elected for a third term.
Major General Godefroid Niyombare said a salvation committee had been set up, but the outcome of the coup is unclear.
Thousands protesting against the president in the capital, Bujumbura, are now reported to be celebrating.
President Nkurunziza is currently in Tanzania. The presidency's Twitter site said the coup attempt had failed.

The police in Lagos State, western Nigeria, have arrested a 52-year old woman identified as Mrs. Olamide Bello for allegedly buying twin babies for N1.9 million.
According to, the suspect who resides at Adeniji Street, Meiran, a suburb of Lagos State, with her husband and step-children, told her husband, Mr. Wasiu Bello, that she was pregnant and that she has been instructed to go and deliver of the baby in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital in southern Nigeria.

A Nigerian man, Dr. Benjamin Ola. Akande, has been named the president of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri to replace the current president, Dr. George B. Forsythe who has been president since 2008.
The announcement was made in a press release by chairman of the Westminster Board of Trustees, Wallace L. Head:
“We’re proud to introduce Dr. Akande as president of Westminster College.”
“We’ve achieved our year-long goal of finding the most qualified person to lead Westminster

Dr. Akande, was the Dean of the University's Business and Technology School, is the 21st president of Westminster College in Fulton and the first African-American president in the college’s 164 year history.
91-year-old Nonagenarian Woman Gives Gov. Fashola Seven Days Ultimatum on Metropolitan College
A nonagenarian, Madam Roseline Ololo, aged 91, has given the Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, a seven-day ultimatum to ensure the return of Metropolitan College and Isolo Secondary School to her, failure of which she will permanently occupy the governor’s office.
Madam Ololo, in a statement on Monday by her lawyer, Malcolm Omirhobo, threatened to permanently occupy the governor’s office until her demands are met.
Madam Ololo and her late husband, Chief Michael Ololo, had through their company, Akaix West Africa Limited, established Metropolitan College in 1955 with the first batch of 19 students in Surulere area of Lagos.
For expansion purposes and to move away from the thickly populated residential area of Surulere, the owners acquired the present site at Ire-Akari, Isolo in 1966 and eventually moved there in 1974.
In 1976, via the Education (Private Secondary Institutions Special Provisions) Law, the Military Government of Lagos State took over 48 private secondary schools from their owners, including Metropolitan College. In the process, Isolo Secondary School was carved out of Metropolitan College on the same expanse of land hosting the college.
