The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has entered another cruise control, as it seems the confrontation with National Leader of the Party, Asiwaju Tinubu and his boys may not be ending soon. 

A faction loyal to Asiwaju Tinubu had made public the full results of their own congress even as the election of new party officers is just about to start at ACME Road. 

Meanwhile, Muiz Banire and others are holding a parallel Congress at Airport Hotel, dismissing Tinubu's Congress as illegal, citing that it is based on 57 Local Governments and theirs on the Constitutional 20 Local Governments as stipulated in the constitution of Nigeria.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has stated that police officers must first surrender themselves to be searched before they search Nigerians, revealing that this is the “procedure.”

Idris said this yesterday during an interactive session with Nigerians on Twitter, through the hashtag #AskThePolice.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been gripped by tension as the ruling party holds its state congresses across the country tomorrow.

While a few state chapters of the party have already harmonized positions to ensure that the exercise is hitch-free, it is anxiety in most states as the various blocs and factions battle to control the party’s structure.

The state congresses will elect officials who will run the affairs of the party in states for the next four years. A final year student of the Faculty Of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Abioye Yusuf Segun is dead.

 

According to reports, Segun died around 9a.m, today. Before his death, Segun had fallen ill on Monday before being rushed to health centre of the institution. 

 

He was later transferred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, from where he was referred to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Ile-Ife, where he finally died.

Robbers Blow Up Bullion Vans Filled With Money In Broad Daylight, Disappear With Millions (Photos)

In what will come across as a really shocking development, some daredevil armed robbers this morning blew up two bullion vans filled with money along Atlas Road towards the N12 just before North Rand Road intersection in South Africa.

 

According to Times Live, the robbers shot dead the drivers of the vans before they blew the vans open using Improvised Explosive Device IEDs and carted away millions of rands.

 

Five persons have been arrested in connection with the robbery attack. The five were caught at the George Goch hostel in Johannesburg after police chased them with a helicopter.

Drug Dealers Jailed For 25 Years After Smuggling Drugs To The UK Via A Helicopter

wo members of a drug-dealing gang that used a helicopter to smuggle in cocaine from Europe to the UK have been sentenced to 25 years in jail today.

The helicopter was seized in September last year, where a sophisticated hide for the drugs was found under seats in the aircraft. Federic Fagnoul, who flew in with the helicopter, was found with £7 million worth of cocaine in his possession on the same day.

Detectives from the Organised Crime Command believe that 50kg of cocaine was being imported with each flight into the UK.

John Bolter, who was also identified as part as the drug supply conspiracy, was stopped by officers in the same month and was found to be driving with 20kg of cocaine in a hidden compartment in the boot.

Senate Opts To Obey Court Order On Omo-Agege

The Nigerian Senate said Monday night that it would not stop Senator Ovie Omo-Agege from attending plenary on Tuesday, in compliance with a Federal High Court order.
