The Manor that Aaron Spelling Built Just Sold for a Record-Breaking $120M

The_Spelling_Manor_Holmby_Hills,_Los_Angeles
The opulent mansion owned until recently by F1 heiress Petra Ecclestone finally found a buyer. And despite its final selling price falling short of the ambitious initial asking of $200 million, that doesn’t make it any less staggering.
An unnamed buyer reportedly paid $119.75 million for the well-known Los Angeles property dubbed the Manor. That’s the highest home price in Los Angeles County history and only the fourth sale to surpass the $100 million mark in L.A. history, the LA Times reports. The national record is held by a New York penthouse towering over Central Park that sold in January for a record $238 million.
Now, what’s the story of the 56,500-square-foot chateau in Holmby Hills that has the power to command a $120 million sale? For those of us that didn’t grow up in L.A. in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the massive estate may not bring back memories. But for the people of Los Angeles, The Manor has been a topic of discussion for years.

Image result for Presidential Disappointment: Why Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Lost Out On Ministerial Appointment

Shock and bewilderment were on the faces of many on Tuesday as former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode failed to make the ministerial list of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Prior to the release of the ministerial list earlier today, aides, loyalists and fans of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, had been venting and ululating about his purported ministerial nomination. And they backed their enthusiasm with believable arguments.
When news later emerged that the president had decided to have an expanded cabinet of 42 – 36 to represent each state of the federation and six to represent the geopolitical zones – it was further victory celebrations for the Ambode people who reckoned that the expansion was to accommodate disgruntled party members like him. Alas, the release of the list earlier today has thrown Ambode and his supporters into heartrending mourning.
Many had expected Ambode to be one of the names to from Lagos to be appointed minister, but he and his followers were disappointed as his name was conspicuously missing. Rather, former Governor of Lagos and Minister, Babatunde Fashola retains his seat while former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora was the second name from Lagos.

President Donald Trump played a central role in launching the 2005 criminal investigation of Jeffrey Epstein by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Michael Wolff, who was close with both men in the early aughts, writes in Fire and Fury that Epstein was outed to authorities soon after he threatened to expose Trump as financial fraud.

It all started in 2004 when Epstein, who was still friends with Trump at the time, invited the real estate scion to see a foreclosed property in the tony enclave that he planned to purchase and then flip. And it all ended with Trump pocketing more than $50 million in profits and Epstein behind bars, though both men did manage to negotiate sweet deals.

Epstein was planning to pay $36 million for the property, the information he shared with Trump because he was certain the still-struggling developer would not be able to come up with the capital to submit his own bid.

Following the news on October 20, 2018 when a 67-year-old woman gave birth to her first child through the In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) process, Dr. Taofeek Ogunfunmilayo of Atoke Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has urged women not to give up in their quest for children as age does not matter.
He said though the success rate of IVF declines with the increase in age, as well as the complications following pregnancy, it is worth trying rather than give up on having children.

Ogunfunmilayo, who spoke with The Guardian at his medical facility, explained that there are possibilities of a successful IVF treatment and delivery at the age of 60, which could not be possible for natural conception, adding that there are risks involved during the pregnancy stage, which is being managed by the medical experts.
