Dismissed Anambra PDP Senator Ekwunife Seeks Defects And Seek Nomination From APC

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is gripped by grumbling after former Senator Uche Ekwunife ditched her political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defected to the APC, and blanketed the state with her campaign posters seeking nomination to represent the APC in a forthcoming senatorial race.

Ms. Ekwunife contested the 2015 senatorial election on the ticket of the PDP, and was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission. However, on December 7, 2015, a panel of the Court of Appeal in Enugu nullified her election, ruling that her selection as the PDP’s senatorial candidate was irregular. The appellate court ordered INEC to conduct fresh electionswithin 90 days.

In a dramatic move yesterday, Ms. Ekwunife announced her resignation from the PDP. Her campaign then unveiled campaign posters depicting her as seeking nomination to represent the APC in the forthcoming rerun.

“The manner in which Chief Mrs. Uche Ekwunife is trying to buy the APC nomination is a recipe for disaster for the party,” one APC official told SaharaReporters. He described Ms. Ekwunife as “an unprincipled politician who is using everything at her disposal to contest the [senatorial] election as the APC flag bearer now that it is clear that Dr. [Chris] Ngige will not run.”

“My Husband Is Dating Our Babysitter And I Don’t Mind One Bit.” - Celebrities' Dish Out The Secret To Their Relationship.

Image via iStock.

Trying to find opportunities for alone time as new parents is a classic struggle. My husband and I are lucky enough to have had a weekly ‘date night’ since our daughter was born. What’s our secret? He’s dating the babysitter.

Well, technically, his girlfriend volunteered to babysit for us. Isn’t that sweet of her?

An open marriage certainly has its challenges, but finding personal time outside of being a parent is actually one of the great rewards. My husband and I have been polyamorous since we met, and I actually introduced him to the woman he is currently dating.

When our baby was born, she offered to babysit so we could continue having our traditional date nights. On Sundays, the two of them have time together while I stay home with the baby. And sometimes his girlfriend comes over to spend time with him and our daughter, when I’m out with someone else.

Being poly requires a pretty organised calendar and a TON of communication, and we are finding that being parents requires the same. We try to plan ahead and make sure each of us is getting time alone and time to spend on other relationships, while trying to keep our marriage alive and healthy as well. Plus, parenthood itself can be quite the timesuck.

Activist Amber Amour Live-Blogged Her Rape Ordeal Minutes After It Happened [Photos] Viewers Discretion Advised

Note: This post contains graphic details of a sexual assault.

Rape is shockingly common-place in South Africa (it has the highest incidence of sexual assault in the world) – but Amber’s rape story was different. Not because of the context or the violence involved.

It’s different because she told her story on the internet, just moments after the alleged attack occurred.

Amber, a New Yorker who was travelling in South Africa at the time, had been raped at least twice before – including as a 12-year-old-child – which lead to her becoming a campaigner against sexual violence. She was taking her anti-violence campaign around the world when she says she experienced another brutal attack.
