Actress Funke Akindele has finally given birth to twins thereby putting to shame the prophecies of a prophet who said she can never have children.

A Lagos-based prophet, Olagorioye Faleyimu two years ago stated that the actress would have to undergo serious prayers before she can have children.

Faleyimu prophesied, “A popular actress in Nollywood, Funke Akindele, who was once in the Yoruba movie industry should pray deeply so as to have children.

“Another grace she has is to marry a pastor who can fight the battle on her behalf with prayers.”

Last year, he insisted on his words despite the series of attacks he received. According to him, he was only advising Funke Akindele to draw nearer to God in order for her to have children.

Oshiomhole: Okorocha Locked Stadium Against APC Diverted Money Meant For Workers

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has told the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, that President Muhammadu Buhari has adopted the governorship candidate of the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma.


Oshiomhole also accused Okorocha of frustrating the APC candidate, an action he described as anti-party.

The former Edo stated governor said that by denying Uzodinma use of the state’s stadium, the governor has shown he is working against the party.


The former labour leader, who spoke during the flag off of the APC campaign in Owerri, on Friday, also accused the governor of neglecting the people of the state with his style of governance.

Bukola Saraki Blasts APC After Buhari Was Booed At National Assembly

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, fired at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), hours after President Muhammadu Buhari was booed as he presented the 2019 Budget.

In his statement posted on his official Facebook page, Saraki noted that Nigerians have witnessed stunted growth in their respective businesses, lost their jobs during the recent recession and lost innocent citizens to the insurgency in parts of the North East.

He wrote: “The last three-and-a-half years have been eventful ones at the global level and in our domestic economy. From dips in oil prices to major shifts in the economic landscape, crude oil production shut-ins and security challenges, the economy and Nigerians have been directly impacted by these events.

“Many businesses closed down and many people lost their jobs during the recent recession. In the same period, we lost innocent citizens to the insurgency in parts of the North East, thousands were displaced, and many lives also lost due to clashes between farmers and herders, in addition to the general hardship unleashed by unstable economic winds.
“The recovery from the recession is still fragile. The fundamentals underlying the recovery remain weak, and if unchecked, can lead to dire consequences. The economy still runs on oil and very little progress has been made in terms of diversification.

How Alex Badeh Was Killed – Police

The Nasarawa State Police Command on Wednesday revealed how former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh was murdered

Badeh was killed on Tuesday by unidentified gunmen along Abuja-Keffi road while returning from his farm.

However, the Command disclosed that efforts were on to apprehend those behind the “dastardly act.”

Men Who Lured Lady To Hotel And Killed Her After Rape, Arrested.

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended two murder suspects. According to police report, on Monday, 17/12/2018, following a tip-off, police detectives attached to Central Police Station Onitsha arrested the murder suspects identified as Okoronji Emeka, aged 24 years and Umezinwa Val, aged 24 years.

The suspects had on the 5/12/2018 lured one Gold Gift aged 35 years into a hotel and killed her after having unlawful carnal knowledge with the victim.

Meanwhile, preliminary investigation further revealed that the victim was later taken by the hotel staff and dumped at BSMG roundabout Onitsha without informing the Police.

APC Dissolves State, LG, Ward Excos In Ogun, Imo

The All Progressives Congress has dissolved the executive committees in Imo and Ogun states.

Also dissolved were the local government and ward executives in the two states.

Their dissolution formed part of the resolutions reached during the National Working Committee meeting presided over by the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja on Tuesday.

In their place, the NWC would inaugurate caretaker committees that would superintend over the affairs of the party in the two states ahead of the general elections.

Oshiomhole emerged from the meeting on Tuesday around 7pm and quickly entered his waiting vehicle to avoid journalists who had waited the whole day for a briefing.

Actress Kate Henshaw has reacted to the recent arrest of the Former Commissioner of Information and Special Adviser to Cross Rivers state governor Ben Ayade on Biodiversity, Edet Okon Asim, over allegations of defiling an underaged girl for about three years in Calabar.

According to reports, the girl who was about 12 when the defilement started was “forced” to aborting two pregnancies for Mr. Asim with the consent of her mother, Mrs Stella, who was at the time a mistress to the former commissioner.

Asim reportedly got the girl pregnant twice and connived with the mother of the girl to abort the babies. Unfortunately, the girl's uterus was punctured while a third abortion was being carried out. 

A source who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that Mrs. Stella was married to a popular Calabar based pastor who was a good friend of Asim and bore two children for the deceased man of God.

Justice Onyetenu gave the judgement after listening to arguments of counsel to the ICPC and the defendant. The sentence followed his change of plea from not guilty to guilty. He was pictured bowing down his head in shame after the verdict.

In the mood of Christmas and welfare outreach, RCCG, Hall of Mercy Parish, Bwari, Abuja provided food items to members and non-members of the church at half the market price. Some items like clothes, bags, shoes etc were made available for free.

A bag of rice sold in the market for N18,000 was sold at the church for N9,000. Half bag sold in the market for N9,000 was sold for N4,500 in the church. ‘You Need Another Trip To Dubai’ — APC Taunts PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) needs another strategic session in Dubai.

In November, top leaders of the opposition party spent at least four days in Dubai, strategising for the 2019 elections.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC spokesman, said it is “amazing” that the opposition party could not present any alternative governance agenda before the 2019 polls.

Issa-Onilu said instead of focusing on its own campaign, the PDP is worried about if the ruling party has commenced its own or not.

Nigerians React To Access Bank Acquisition Of Diamond Bank

Mixed reactions have continued the acquisition of Diamond Bank by Access Bank, a Nigerian multinational commercial bank, owned by Access Bank Group.

The report stated that the official announcement of the transaction will be made in the course of the week by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The development came a week after Diamond Bank announced its decision to drop its international operating license to focus on national operations following capitalisation issues.

Diamond Bank’s chief executive officer, Uzoma Dozie, confirmed the development in a statement released on Friday.

“With this approval, the bank will cease to operate as an international bank,” Dozie had said.

Moments after the news of the acquisition broke, Nigerians took to the microblogging site, Twitter to air their opinions on the acquisition.

South - East Governors Plan Evasive Tactics For Atiku, Peter Obi Ticket

Governors elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in South-East geo-political zone have resolved to adopt cautious support for the party’s presidential standard bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

A source close to one of the three PDP governors confided in The Guardian that even before the meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari as part of the members of the National Economic Council (NEC), the governors agreed to take a middle course in the forthcoming presidential election.

The source said: “Part of the resolution of the governors is that they should not make financial commitment to presidential campaign of Atiku/Obi. They also agreed to ensure that there was no joint campaign promotional, especially billboards in their respective states.”

Barring last-minute change, former Governor of Kano state Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has concluded plans to return to the All Progressive Congress (APC), from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Our reporter learnt on good authority that the Senator representing Kano central Kwankwaso, have been sending Emissaries to the Presidency to pave way for his return into the fold of the APC again. It would be recalled that Kwankwaso alongside 12 other Senators in July 2018 defected to the PDP. 

Kwankwaso vied for the office of the Presidency under the platform of the PDP and finished 4th in the presidential race. An impeccable source in the Kwankwassiyya camp told this newspaper that, the Senator is not happy with some developments in the PDP and feel uncomfortable.
