Earlier this month, we reported the story of a seven months pregnant university student, Sharon Otieno, who was abducted and killed in a brutal way by her assailants.

The 26-year-old second-year Medical Records and Information student at Rongo University was strangled, stabbed eight times and raped by her assailants. Now, a paternity test by the government has proven that Migori Governor Zachary Okoth Obado was the biological father of his wife's late sister's baby who was stabbed to death alongside the mother.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP is prosecuting four persons for alleged offences of rape, child theft, child labour and abuse. The Director Investigation and monitoring of NAPTIP, Josiah Emerole said the alleged offences contravened the agency’s actions and the Violence against Persons Prohibition Act of 2015.

One of the alleged offenders, 43 year old Stephanie Bassey from Akwa Ibom State who lived in Sweden was brought to NAPTIP in August this year by the officers of the intelligence and International Cooperation after she was handed over by the Embassy of Sweden in Nigeria on the Suspicion that she was not the biological mother of a two-month-old baby she came to procure a visa for.

It was learned that APC leader refused to endorse his political godson for re-election yesterday, ascribing it to Ambode’s decision to alter, modify and scrap some state’s policies initiated under the Tinubu administration between 1999 and 2007.

One of the sources mentioned the affected policies to include Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), which the Ambode administration scrapped and modified to serve the residents more effectively.

Tinubu is believed to be backing the Managing Director of Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSPDC), Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Barring any last minute change, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode may withdraw from the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State slated for September 25 and throw his weight behind the candidate endorsed by the most influential political group in the state, the Mandate Group.

With just nine days to the direct primaries to select the governorship candidate of the party, credible sources in the party said the governor’s second term ambition may be a foregone conclusion given the stiff resistance to his reelection bid by his political benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the stakeholders in the Mandate Group.

Despite interventions by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman as well as traditional and religious leaders, they have not been able to secure a firm commitment from Tinubu to support Ambode for the race.

How I Got My NYSC Exemption Certificate – Nigeria’s Immediate Past Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun Reveals

Kemi Adeosun, Nigeria’s immediate past finance minister has explained how she got a National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate believed to be fake.

Adeosun resigned her appointment on Friday, 69 days after an online medium published a report that her NYSC certificate was not issued by the Corps.

She has since been replaced by Zainab Ahmed, who until Friday was a junior minister in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

“As someone totally committed to a culture of probity and accountability I have decided to resign with effect from Friday, 14th September 2018,” Adeosun said in her resignation sent to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
