Morenikeji Adeyemi a 37-year-old driver on Friday said he killed his employer’s wife, Oyewumi Ayanwale, because he was sacked for no reason after four years.

Adeyemi, who was paraded by the Oyo State Police Command in Ibadan, said he was able to lure the victim under the pretence of taking her for prayers.

According to him, he strangulated the victim and consequently made away with her vehicle.

Adeyemi who was arrested by the anti-kidnapping squad said he was hurt when his boss sacked him.

Two Women Abducted And Raped By Man In Car In North London As Police Hunt Suspect After Victims Snatched From Street In Chingford and Edgware

Police are searching for a man who abducted and raped two women in a car over a 12-hour period in north London.

One victim was snatched in the street in Chingford, in the north-east of the capital in the early hours of Thursday, and the second was grabbed at about midday in Edgware, about 12 miles to the west, Scotland Yard said.

According to police, both women managed to escape after a struggle on Osborne Road in Watford, about six miles away from the second abduction, at about 2.30pm on Thursday.

The suspect was described as a white man of muscular build. Detectives from the Metropolitan police’s homicide and major crime command are investigating, supported by other specialist and local officers. They have appealed for witnesses.

'Mama Police': Parrot Arrested In Brazil For Alerting Drug Dealers Police Were Coming

A parrot has been taken into custody in northern Brazil following a police raid targeting crack dealers.

According to reports in the Brazilian press, the bird had been taught to alert criminals to police operations in Vila Irmã Dulce, a low-income community in the sun-scorched capital of Piauí state, by shouting: “Mum, the police!”

The parrot, who has not been named, was seized on Monday afternoon when officers swooped on a drug den run by a local couple.

“He must have been trained for this,” one officer involved in the operation said of the two-winged wrongdoer. “As soon as the police got close he started shouting.”

The horse-trading for the leadership of the 9th Senate intensified yesterday with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spearheading negotiation with some aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the office of the President of the Senate.

The PDP is plotting a joint ticket by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Sen. Danjuma Goje and the outgoing Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu.

But some leaders of PDP are suggesting either Sen. Ali Ndume-Ekweremadu mandate or Sen. Abdullahi Adamu-Ekweremadu ticket.

But most PDP senators-elect, especially loyalists of the outgoing Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has been uncomfortable with any joint ticket with Ndume or Adamu.

Detectives attached to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, have launched an investigation into the death of a six-year-old boy, Treasure Akinsohun. Treasure’s body was allegedly found inside a freezer at Ketu, Alapere area of Lagos. 

The victim and his mother were said to have gone to Ketu from Ikorodu to celebrate Easter with the woman’s younger sister when the unfortunate incident occurred last week. It was learnt that what baffled the victim’s parents and residents of the area was that Treasure was declared missing at Oyedele Street, but his body was later found inside a freezer at Orisigun Street, about five streets from where his mother’s younger sister resides.

A constitutional lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Chukwuma Ma-Chukwu Ume has disclosed that the tenure of some sitting state governors and members of the National Assembly in the opposition political parties is not guaranteed as they would soon be thrown out of office using the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Ume who spoke with Daily Sun yesterday on the implication of the trial and conviction of former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Walter Onnoghen by the CCT condemned the process and procedure that lead to the judgment.

The lawyer who was among Justice Onnoghen’s legal team faulted the judgment of the CCT which he maintained had some political colouration as it was not based on any legal principle.

A car ran into a Boys’ Brigade procession in Gombe State late on Sunday evening, killing at least 10, according to the Police.

It was gathered that the Boys’ Brigade, from ECWA Church, Bamusa in Barunde and from St Peter’s Anglican Church in were in a procession to Sabon-Layi Area of Gombe metropolis, where they were expected to celebrate Easter on Monday when a car crashed into them.

A man who reportedly witnessed the incident has narrated what happened. It was claimed that a Civil defence officer popularly known as Adamu Abubakar Ukasha, had a misunderstanding with members of the Boys Brigade, Zone A, while they were on procession during the Easter rally at around 12 midnight in their characteristic manner with music and dancing.

A 24-year-old Nigerian migrant is said to be in critical condition after he jumped from the fourth floor of a building during police chase in Vicenza, Italy.

It was gathered that the Nigerian man was stopped by the police for a routine check and on sighting the officers, the young man allegedly fled and was given a hot pursuit.

The Nigerian man ran into a building to hide from the police who were chasing him. After realizing that there was no escape for him, he allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the building in a bid to evade arrest.

Couple Arrested After Selling Their 'Six-Hour-Old' Baby For N850,000 In Imo State

The Imo State Police Command has apprehended five members of a child trafficking syndicate who allegedly sold a six-hour-old baby for N850,000 shortly after he was born.  

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Rabiu Ladodo, who paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Owerri on Saturday, described the crime as “absurd and irritating.”

Ladodo said the suspects would be charged to court at the conclusion of an investigation. The CP noted that it was unbelievable that the mother of the newborn, Chinonye Oparaocha, 23, conspired with the other suspects to trade the child after delivery.  

Harrysong Gifts Olajumoke N400,000 For Dancing To ‘Chacha’ His Latest Song (Video)

Nigerian model, and former bread seller, Olajumoke is in the news for something positive after news emerged that her marriage was in crisis.

She danced to a song named Chacha by Harrysong and the singer decided to gift her about N400,000.

A 30-year-old man, Danjuma Bisalla, has been arrested by men of the Niger state Police command for killing his wife, Uwani, for saying that she would remarry if he dies.

According to the police, Uwani confessed that the deceased made the comment while he was sick and close to death. Angered by her comment, he attacked her with a machete while she was sleeping on Sunday April 11th at their home in Uddu village, in the Rijau Local Government Area of the state.

Tinubu Accuses Ex-Party Members Saraki, Dogara of Budget padding

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  has accused the leadership of the National Assembly, Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, who were both former members of the APC, of budget padding.

Tinubu accused both men in a statement he released on Sunday April 21st while responding to claims of his intention to run for President in 2023. He alleged that Saraki and Dogara who defected from the party last year, worked with their likes to hijack the budget process for four years.

“Just look at the way Saraki, Dogara and their ilk hijacked the budget process these past four years. National budgets were delayed and distorted as these actors repeatedly sought to pad budgets with pet projects that would profit them. Even worse, they cut funds intended to prosper projects that would have benefitted the average person. After four years of their antics halting the progress of government, we should do all we can to prevent a repeat of their malign control of the National Assembly.
