Tragedy Averted As Tyre Of Dubai-bound Plane Burst At Lagos Airport….
Hundreds of passengers on Thursday escaped death when one of the tyres of a Dubai-bound Qatar Airways aircraft burst while it was attempting to take-off at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The incident was said to have occurred around 3pm.
One of the passengers, who spoke to reporters, said the pilot was already cleared for take-off by the air traffic controllers when they suddenly heard a loud sound.
According to her, this prompted the pilot to stop briefly before deciding to taxi the aircraft back to the terminal where it earlier departed.

3 Nigerian Yahoo Boys Convicted In US. Face 115, 95, 25 Year Jail Terms (Photos)
A federal jury in Gulfport on Wednesday convicted three Nigerian nationals of multiple fraud crimes that could put two of them behind bars for the rest of their lives. The three had been extradited from South Africa in July 2015 to face charges along with 18 others indicted.
Rasaq Aderoju Raheem, 31 faces up to 115 years in prison.
Oladimeji Seun Ayelotan, 30, faces up to 95 years in prison.
Femi Alexander Mewase, 45, faces up to 25 years in prison.

Brexit Bill: MPs Reject Amendment To Protect EU Citizens In UK - The Guardian
Attempts to force the government to give all EU citizens in the UK permanent residency after Britain leaves the bloc have been defeated.
The government successfully blocked the bid to add the protections in amendments to the Brexit bill in the House of Commons on Wednesday by 332 votes to 290. Three Tory MPs voted in favour of the amendment – Ken Clarke, Andrew Tyrie and Tania Matthias.
However, the Liberal Democrats said they were confident they have enough support from Labour peers to pass the amendments when the bill is debated in the House of Lords later this month.

A mother of three identified as Tina Promise, who resides at Molade Okoya Thomas Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and allegedly cut her lover’s girlfriend in the b.reast with a sharp razor blade was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Igbosere magistrate’s court, Lagos.
According to Vanguard, the 28-year-old nursing mother, was docked before Magistrate A. F. O. Botoku on a one-count charge of unlawful assault preferred against her by the police.
While speaking in court, the prosecutor, Sergeant Francesca Job, said that the defendant committed the alleged offence on February 6, at about 9:20p.m, adding that the defendant unlawfully used a razor blade to inflict injuries on the left b.reast of one Esther Onogwu, 22, who is a cleaner at a popular hotel.

This 30 Year Old Man Was Arrested For Raping 5 Year Old Girl
A 30-year-old man, identified as McCarthy Kuyemekume, has been arraigned before the Magistrate’s Court in Rumuepirikom in Obio/Akpor Local Government of Rivers State for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl.
The accused, who resides at Saviour’s Estate, Nkpor Village in Rumuolumeni, was said to have committed the offence on January 25, 2016 in his brother’s house within the estate.
Kuyemekume was said to have taken custody of the girl when she was crying over her mother’s refusal to add milk to her meal.

An Instagram user, Nylah shared this photo of an alleged robber who came to her office disguised as a NEPA official only to steal her mobile phones after he lured her outside the building.
