Two Children & A Woman Burnt To Death In Autocrash Along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

In the wake of hustling and bustling that precedents Christmas celebration, a woman and her two children were on Thursday burnt to death in an accident, at the Ewekoro end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ogun State, after their vehicle somersaulted.Read more after cut....

Two other occupants of the Lexus Jeep, the family vehicle, were said to be in a critical condition at the Ijaiye General Hospital.
The family were reportedly travelling for Christmas when the driver, who was at top speed, ran into a bad portion of the road.

Godswill Adiks a.k.a Will Adiks, was shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen, who ambushed him at the Rivers State Axis of the East-West Road, while returning from a Programme in Benin, Edo State, reports PUO METRO.

It was gathered that the gunmen had trailed his car, shot him at close range, alongside his two guitarists, on the night of the 21st of December. He was later rushed to the University Of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, where he gave up the ghost.

A young lady identified as Judith took the pains of taking a selfie with a bloodied face and a mangled car behind her at the scene of an accident involving her and other family members.

Much details were not provided by the victim of the accident.

The Nigerian Army has rebuffed a video that went viral earlier this week showing some Nigerian soldiers dying of thirst and hunger where they were fighting Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

The Federal Executive Council yesterday approved a new policy that will see any whistle-blower being rewarded with as much as 5 % of recovered loot. An Osun State Magistrates’ Court yesterday issued a bench warrant of arrest against the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi.
At its last sitting on December 2, Chief Magistrate Olusola Aluko threatened to issue the bench warrant of arrest if Oba Akanbi failed to appear before him in compliance with the court order on November 25 in a case filed against him by the Oluwo of Iwo-Oke, Oba Kadiri Adeoye.
Oba Adeoye was in court but Oba Akanbi sent another monarch, Ologburo of Ogburo, Oba Asimiyu Sadiq, to represent him.
His absence drew the anger of Magistrate Aluko.

"I Killed My Mother Because Of Her High Demand For Sex From Me" – Okada Rider

33 year old commercial motorcycle rider, Segun Ogunlusi, pictured above, who was recently arrested for killing his 60 year old mother, Abimbola Ogunlusi, at their home in Ogijo area of Ogun State, today confessed to the crime, saying his mother's high demand for sex from him made him kill her and bury her corpse in a shallow grave.

Bode Ibidun, who returned to Nigeria, recently, in preparation for his wedding on January 7, 2017, was, over the weekend, killed by some gun wielding cultists, in Osogbo, Osun State.

Punch gathered that the deceased was killed by members of a cult group known as ‘Arise Boys’ which is based in Igbona area, because one of the members was dating the lady, who the deceased was planning to marry.

Tajudeen Olatunji Bakare, an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Apapa, was beaten to death by okada riders and touts on Thursday, 15th December, 2016. A graphic video of the gruesome murder has now surfaced online. The late officer can be seen lying helplessly inside a gutter, as an irrate mob stoned him to death.

The Lagos State Government has condemned the mob action, promising to bring the perpetrators to book. The Government also denied involvement of LASTMA in an incident which led to the death of a motor boy attached to a Tanker in Apapa (an incident which triggered the mob action).

Nigeria-born Woyin Karowei Dorgu has been announced as the 13th bishop of Woolwich and will be consecrated in March, 2017.

A statement from England’s Prime Minister Office said that The Queen approved the nomination of Dorgu to succeed the Right Reverend Michael Geoffrey Ipgrave.

Downing Street announced today that the Revd Prebendary Dr Woyin Karowei Dorgu is to be the 13th Bishop of Woolwich. He succeeds the Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave who is now the 99th Bishop of Lichfield. He will be consecrated in Southwark Cathedral on St Patrick’s Day 17th March 2017.

Turkey's Anadolu Agency said the gunman (pictured) has been 'neutralised'

The Russian ambassador to Ankara was shot in the back and killed while giving a speech at an art gallery on Monday. Turkish security sources said the gunman, who shouted "Don't forget Aleppo", was an off-duty police officer.

The Russian foreign ministry confirmed the death of envoy Andrei Karlov, which marked one of the most serious spillovers of the Syria conflict. Turkey has struggled with a string of attacks by Islamist and Kurdish militants but the killing of a Russian envoy could have resonance throughout the region.

Russia is a close ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and its air strikes were instrumental in helping Syrian forces end rebel resistance last week in the northern city of Aleppo. President Tayyip Erdogan, however, has been a vociferous opponent of Assad.
