 Police have launched a murder investigation after a schoolgirl was stabbed to death on a bus.
The commuter horror is believed to have happened during rush hour at 7.37am today in Birmingham.
On social networking sites, unconfirmed reports have said 'a 15-year-old schoolgirl had been stabbed by a friend'.

West Midlands Police have not confirmed the victim's age or sex and said emergency services were dispatched immediately but nothing could be done to save the victim.
They said the victim's family has been informed of her death and the investigation is ongoing with officers still at the scene.

The Hagley Road, which is a main commuter route into the city, remains closed and is likely to remain closed for the rest of today.
A National Express West Midlands Travel spokesman said: 'We can confirm that a tragic incident took place on a number nine service on the Hagley Road this morning.
'Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the person involved and we will offer all possible support to the police in their investigation into the matter.'
West Ambulance Service said: 'We were called at 7.37am to a bus on Hagley Road.
'This is a criminal matter.

'We have sent one emergency doctor, senior paramedic officer and two ambulance crews.'
'One person was confirmed dead at the scene'
