BEYONCE Bares All For ‘Flaunt’ Magazine, Talks Pepsi Controversy

Screen shot 2013-07-10 at 8.14.04 AM

Beyoncé has graced the covers of countless magazines in her day, but her latest spread with Flaunt Magazine is one that I predict will be etched into the minds of many for years to come. I mean, it’s not everyday that you see King Bey completely nude looking like she just rolled around in a bed of glitter. The photo shoot themes chosen by the magazine for Bey in this particular issue are rather interesting, but what’s even more intriguing is the actual interview, during which she speaks pretty candidly about a slew of different topics. Find out what the “Grown Woman” singer thinks of magazine sex columns, the backlash she received for partnering with Pepsi and being considered a “gay icon” below. More pictures after the cut.....

On what items are necessary for a risqué picnic:
“A cozy blanket, red wine, fruit, ’90s R&B playing on my iPod. I don’t think you need much else.”
On being considered a “gay icon” like Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland, Cher and Madonna:
“I’m flattered if I’m in the company of those great women. I think they love that we are bold, unafraid to love, and flaunt our sexuality and strength.”
On being impersonated by ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Tyra Sanchez:
“No conflict. I love it and Miss Tyra is fabulous! ”
On millenials being considered self-centered “slacktivistis” [people who are activists online but not in the real world]:
“At my concerts I see the opposite. They are engaged in making a difference. We have collected tons of donations that will go towards creating jobs and helping people get jobs. That’s something I want to celebrate. For Chime for Change we raised awareness and over $4 million in one day for equal rights for girls everywhere. So many people at that concert were young. They are more socially responsible than they get credit for.”
On the Pepsi endorsement backlash:
“Pepsi is a brand I’ve grown up seeing my heroes collaborate with. The company respects musicians and artistry. I wouldn’t encourage any person, especially a child, to live life without balance.”
“When you work out, take care of your body, rehearse as hard as I rehearsed in the commercial, I think it’s great to have a Pepsi or Diet Pepsi when you want one. It’s all about choices.”

On her favorite piece of clothing:
“A white T-shirt.”
On her “carefully sculpted image:”
“I have chosen to keep certain aspects of my life private. But I also love sharing what makes me happy, especially through photography.
On her favorite sex scandal:
“Antony and Cleopatra. The legend of that love affair affected history and lives to this day.”
On which architectural structure she’d love to make out in:
“The Louvre, or under the Arc de Triomphe. Paris is a beautiful, s*xy city.”
On magazine features that offer tips for pleasing one’s lover:
“If you have to read those lists, you’re already in trouble.”
On what bores her:
“Lack of creativity.”
