What’s going on here?: Hamza Al-mustapha visits Asari Dokubo (Photo)

This Hamza Al-Mustapha dance is becoming more difficult to comprehend.
The former Abacha hit-man who was recently freed by the Appeal Court has refused to be quiet since his release. First port of call after release – Prophet T. B Joshua, then Kano and the raucous welcome by the government and people of that state, then the calls and clamour for him to run for office in 2015, and the latest is a visit to one of the president’s strongest backers from the Niger Delta and threat specialist, Asari Dokubo.

Well, we do not have details of the meeting but let’s try something:
Considering that Al-Mustapha is Hausa and Dokubo usually sounds like he terribly hates Hausa/Fulanis then there must be something strong pulling them together. We can’t say they were comrades-in-arms because when Al-Mustapha was the all-in-all, Dokubo was an unknown; when Dokubo and his band of merry militants were holding Nigeria to ransom, Al-Mustapha was in jail.
So what is drawing these men together?
The next few months would say a lot, but already some are arguing that it’s about the politics of 2015 and the alleged strategy of Aso Rock to use Al-Mustapha to gain some inroads into the North.
Who knows?
