Nigeria’s most celebrated Romance writer, Kayode Ajala went down the memory lane to relive the circumstances that led to one of the best yet to be told celebrities romance tale of Grandmaster of Afro Juju, Sir Shina Peters and his lovely wife, Sammie Ayoka Peters. Though not without their fair share of storms in marriage, love conquers all through thick and thin, rich or poor sickness and health.
Kayode Ajala, the Romance Merchant, who also witnessed the holy matrimony gladly obliged E24-7 Magazine’s request to recall the historic moment. He writes:
“On that day, 21 years ago, SSP sealed the mouths of detractors who had been speculating that his marriage to Sammie was on the brink of collapse, by walking Sammie down the aisle. Prior to that event and as a result of SSP’s alliance’s with other women coupled with stories of a love child from one of such indiscretions, disturbing stories made the rounds that Sammie, fed up with it all, was ready to call it quits with SSP. But just as detractors orchestrated a celebration to mark the separation of Shina and Sammie, the couple in the eye of the storm took the wind out of their sail by signing the dotted lines at the Ikeja Marriage Registry, after which they hosted friends and family to a modest party at their Iju home…”
