Fear Of 20-Year-Jail Term: 300 Youths Denounce Cultism In Bayelsa (Photos)


Over 300 Bayelsa youths are reported to have denounced their involvement in cult activities today, 9th April 2018, as leaders of the various youths groups in the state converged for a final solution to the recent rise in crimes and criminalities.

The event which took place at the state volunteer office chaired by Hon. Prince Douye Koroye, witnessed the turn out of a large mammoth crowd.

The major highlight of the event was the presentation of the copy of the Secret cult/societies prohibition and similar activities prohibition law, 2018, by Hon. Peter Akpe, the majority leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to the Bayelsa volunteer security network.



Hon. Prince Douye Koroye, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on youths and the Chairman of Bayelsa State Volunteers, utilized the medium to applaud the government of Bayelsa State led by His Excellency Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson for putting the security of Bayelsans, their lives and properties as the utmost priority.

He called on youths of the state to shun cultism and crimes.

Other leaders present at the event were the SA security Mr. Sparo Jack, Barr. Tare Porri, IYC chairman central zone, Barr. Owopele Jeremiah and Mr. Felix Bonny Ayah, SA Oil and Gas, Bayelsa State.

The acts include a 20 year- jail term for any person arrested and sentenced for cult violence and activities in the State.
