Veteran Nollywood actor, Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello, has been honoured with a new title in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Model Lauren Wasser says she will lose second leg to TSS

The model who lost her leg to toxic shock syndrome revealed that she is 'inevitably' going to lose the other and is speaking out to warn women of the dangers of this infection.

Lauren Wasser, 29, contracted toxic shock syndrome (TSS) in 2012 after using a super-plus tampon while on her period.

Though tampon boxes warn not to leave it in for more than eight hours, Wasser said that she had been frequently changing her tampon while experiencing symptoms of the infection.

What started as flu-like symptoms left her suffering a massive heart attack and on life support as gangrene began to consume both of her legs, which led to a below-the-knee amputation of her right leg and toe amputations on her left foot.

Terry Wayne Millender, 53 and Brenda Millender, 57, were convicted by a federal jury Monday of a $2 million fraud scheme, according to the United States Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, December 19, arraigned the duo of Temitope Oluwasanmi and Augustine Olayinka before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on a seven-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and fraudulent diversion of funds to the tune of N116m.

The first defendant, Temitope Oluwasanmi, an employee of Union Bank of Nigeria (UBN) Plc, was arrested by operatives of the EFCC sometime in October 2017, following a petition received by the Commission from the bank.

The armed robbers that hijacked a bullion van early this month in Delta State, reportedly carted away a whopping sum of $2 million. According to him, a food meant to be eaten by his family, had some part of it giving to a goat, only for it to die few hours later!

Police in Lagos have arrested a physically-challenged beggar, Godwin Fawehinmi, for allegedly being in possession of different types of guns.

The suspect was arrested by detectives attached to Area M Police Command, Idimu, Egbeda area of the state at the weekend.

The suspect, who is crippled, it was learnt, usually begs for alms on the street on a daily basis. However, it came to many as a surprise when a gun was recovered from him.

Social media personality and gospel comedian, Arole has acquired a top of the class SUV and has taken to his gram to give God all the praise; with a stunting pose beside his new Escalade jeep, the bearded preacher wrote;

Washington state Amtrak train derails and falls on highway

An Amtrak train making the first-ever run along a faster new route hurtled off an overpass Monday near Tacoma and spilled some of its cars onto the highway below, killing at least three people, authorities said.

The train was moving at more than 80 mph when it derailed about 40 miles south of Seattle on a route that had raised safety concerns.

An official briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press that preliminary signs indicate that Train 501 may have struck something before going off the track. The official was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP. Edgal Imohimi has ordered the prosecution of one Mr. Folarin Odukoya, a staff of China Construction Company of Nigeria Limited (CCCN), for attempted suicide.

Folarin would have taken his own life at about 11pm on Sunday December 17th if not for the vigilance of one Police Sergeant Bankole Adekoya of 23PMF who observed him critically and discovered that he was up to something sinister and thus informed the Ebute Ero Divisional Police Officer, SP Sina Olunlade who arrived the scene with local divers.

A 20-year-old man has been jailed after being convicted of multiple rapes following two trials in the UK.
Eniola Balogun was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, December 15, to a total of 21 years' imprisonment

Balogun, of no fixed address but from the Tottenham area pleaded guilty at Wood Green Crown Court on 19 September to four counts of rape on four separate teenage girls, aged between 13 and 16 - he also pleaded guilty to the possession of indecent images of a child.
Balogun had been found guilty of a further three counts of rape following an earlier trial at the same venue on 30 March. These offences related to one victim - a 16-year-old girl.
The Judge also ordered Balogun is subject to an extended licence period of eight years which will come into effect on his release from prison.
Balogun will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

Nigerian Lady Dies Onboard Emirates Airlines

A Nigerian Lady, identified as Mrs. Abaniwonda Modupe Kofowoola was found dead on board Emirates Airlines when it landed at Lagos Airport. SR reports.

This is coming just few hours after the United Arab Emiraes (UAE) carrier, Emirates airlines, launched its second daily flight to the Murtala Muhammed INternational Airport (MMIA), Lagos and returned to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja.
According to reports from SR, Kofoworola was found dead onboard the airline when it landed at the Lagos Airport. She was with the passport number: A07562816 until her death on the aircraft.

According to the story shared by Desmond,one of the Directors of State of Osun Ambulance died in Osogbo while using her phone where she was filling her gas cylinder.

She was actually celebrating her mum's 70th birthday & she needed to go and refill as they ran out of gas while cooking. She went with her driver and getting to the filling station, she had a call and right inside her car, there was fire ignition and explosion as a result of the phone she answered close to the gas cylinder.

Thierry Henry spoke to the media shortly after he arrived nigeria He says “African players are talented but technically, no African player can compare with Kanu.”

Daughter And Mother Die While Travelling To Prepare For Her Wedding.

This is very sad. A woman, late Deaconess Juliana Adaeze Wagoha and her daughter identified as Dr Elizabeth Ihuoma Wagoha, have died tragically leaving their family and friends in lament. According to reports gathered, the 49-year-old woman was said to be travelling with her 25-year-old daughter from their base at Port-Harcourt, Rivers state to Onitsha in order to get some things for her (daughter's) wedding meant to take place in two weeks ago- before tragedy struck.

The pair both died in a fatal accident.

Their burial arrangements have been concluded as they are to be laid to rest on Friday, December 22. May their souls rest in peace.

The Nigerian Judicial system has without doubt been hit with controversy this week, after a lady, Firdaus, who wore a hijab to her Call to Bar ceremony, was turned back.

A Twitter user @Stef_23rd claimed to be present when the incident happened and stated that the lady was begged to remove her Hijab by about 50 persons so she can be called, but she refused and instead hinged on insulting them.
