Sadiq Khan has hit out at commuters who are refusing to stay at home following the deaths of five London bus workers who tested positive for Covid-19. 

The mayor of the capital said he was 'absolutely devastated' following the coronavirus deaths. 

He tweeted a statement saying that 'lives depend' on people following Government rules to stay at home unless travel is essential. 

So far coronavirus has taken the lives of 4,313 people in the UK and a whopping 41,903 are infected with the disease. 

Gov Yahaya Bello, suspends Commissioner accused of physically and sexually assaulting a lady over a Facebook post

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered the immediate suspension of the state Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdulmumuni Danga, who has been accused of rape.

Recall that Elizabeth Oyeniyi, a resident of the state, has accused Danga of physically and sexually assaulting her over a Facebook post she made about him on her page on March 29th.

Oyeniyi had published a post asking the Commissioner to be generous to his immediate family as he is with members of the public. She said this infuriated the Commissioner who she alleged arranged some men to pick her up, bring her to his apartment where he flogged her and then raped her. Read the initial story here.

The coronavirus death toll in the United States tipped over 7,000 on Friday with 1,084 new deaths in the last 24 hours. 

The national total now stands at 7,164 deaths and 277, 999 cases, a jump of 32,234 new cases since Thursday. 

New York City remains the epicentre of the outbreak with 57,159 cases. The Big Apple's deaths reached 1,867 on Friday, recording 305 new deaths since Thursday. 

The state's death rate also hit a new high on Friday with 23 people dying every hour through the last 24-hour period. Deaths total 2,935 and there are 103,060 confirmed cases of the virus, as of Friday evening.

The UK has announced 684 more coronavirus deaths today, taking the total number of fatalities to 3,605. 

Yet again the number is a record one-day high - this has been the case almost every day this week, with each day since Tuesday announcing more victims than the last.

Yesterday there were a record 569 new fatalities announced by the Department of Health and today's statistics show a rise 20 per cent larger.

The new numbers mean the number of people dead from COVID-19 in the UK has risen five-fold in a week, from just 759 last Friday, March 27.

'I Mistakenly Raped 4-Year-Old Girl' – Suspect

Boniface, a resident of forest community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State Isaac Boniface, a resident of forest community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, yesterday said he mistakenly raped a four-year-old girl in his compound.

The 20-year-old suspect was among the 25 suspects paraded by the Police in Plateau State for various criminal activities. At least 93 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the north Italian city.
The Italian city of Bergamo, one of the worst-hit by the coronavirus outbreak, is having to transport its dead out of the city as its crematorium is struggling to cope. 

Army vehicles have been brought in to move dozens of coffins from Bergamo to other regions, according to Ansa news agency.

The wealthy city, northeast of Milan in Italy's Lombardy region, has recorded at least 93 coronavirus-related deaths as cases continue to grow relentlessly.


It comes as Italy recorded more total virus deaths than China, at 3,405 - a rise of 427 on Wednesday.

Uche Osagie was driving back to Sudbury, Ont. when the car left Highway 17 and crashed into a rock-cut. Her son's Destiny, 11, and Flourish, 10, died on that snowy highway.

Her daughter Britney, 6, died later in hospital.
