Everything being equal, Prince Dapo Abiodun, successful businessman and proprietor of Heyden Oil and Gas among other lucrative ventures, has every reason to start warming up to occupy the Ogun State Government House from May 29th. The governorship election is slated for Saturday, March 9thand one of the power blocs in the state, the Kensington Adebutu’s supporters, have reportedly thrown its weight behind Abiodun. Like the Adebutus, Abiodun hails from Iperu Remo in Ogun State. Abiodun’s journey thus far has been strewn with thorns and thistles.

A very good friend and financier of the incumbent, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Prince Abiodun was shocked to the marrows when the governor told him in no uncertain terms that he would not support his governorship ambition. Amosun would shock the people of Ogun State and indeed, discerning Nigerians, when news emerged in October 2018 that he had unilaterally drawn up a list of candidates for the party and subsequently announced Adekunle Akinlade, a member of the House of Representatives, as his anointed for the governorship ticket. If Abiodun was aghast, he didn’t show it.

A woman was caught yesterday allegedly trying to behead her daughter in an uncompleted building in Delta state.

In photos shared to Facebook, the 12-year-old girl can be seen bleeding from her neck. Her mother was on the floor, looking spent and defeated with blood on her clothes too.

Man Overstays In Lagos Hotel, Robs & Kills Female Lawyer To Offset Bills

A man identified as Joshua Usulor who overstayed in a hotel in Lagos and killed a female lawyer to offset his bills has been arrested by the Lagos State police command.

On January 26, the command received a report that one Feyitayo Obot, female, aged 34, was gruesomely murdered in her hotel room at Opebi, Ikeja by the man, who immediately absconded from the scene.

According to Lagos State police spokesman, Chike Oti, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), the victim’s body, which had multiple stab wounds on the abdominal region and a throat slit open with a sharp object, was recovered for an autopsy.

“Although the suspect absconded after committing the crime, the Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, charged the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, DCP Yetunde Longe, to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the culprit is arrested and prosecuted.

Steamy bedroom video of formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton of his ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger has now garnered 600,000 views since it was leaked online by hackers.

The mobile phone footage shows the Pussycat Dolls singer, 40, and the F1 hotshot driver, 32, lying on a bed ‘kissing and cuddling’.

According to The Sun,  the two-and-a-half minute clip of the former flames, who split in 2015, racked up at least 286,000 times just one day after it was leaked but has now skyrocketed to 600,000 views.

Disturbing Video of Woman Slapping and Suffocating a Baby

A disturbing video of a woman physically abusing a baby caused outrage after it went viral. It has now been revealed that the abuser is the child’s mother and she did it to spite the father.

The video was originally shared on Twitter by Lackadaisical MacIrishZa on January 23. The caption asked Twitter for help finding the child. Later in the day, the same account tweeted that the baby had been found.

The incident occurred in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. The video is just a snippet of two videos taken by the 21-year-old mother which she sent to the child’s father.

FG To PDP, Atiku: Governmment Of National Unity Will Never Happen

The Federal Government on Monday said it would not consider a Government of National Unity being canvassed by some Nigerians following the outcome of the 2019 presidential election which was won by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), President Buhari, who was seeking re-election, garnered 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who polled 11,262,978.

Atiku has already rejected the result and vowed to challenge it in court.

However, some Nigerians, including political parties, have asked Atiku not to go to court while asking President Buhari to form a Government of National Unity.

Buhari Campaign Organisation Reports Atiku To EU, AU Over ‘Undemocratic Tendencies

The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) has written to the international community to caution the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.


Specifically, the presidential campaign group petitioned the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU).

The group urged them to prevail upon Atiku to jettison his plan of going to court to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.


In separate letters addressed to the heads of EU and AU Observation Missions in Nigeria, BCO noted that the international bodies must act fast to save the country’s democracy from what it described as Atiku’s inequitable conduct despite the reports of fairness in the just concluded polls by international observers.

Only Persons Of Proven Integrity Will Be Appointed In My Next Cabinet — President Buhari

President Buhari has vowed to ensure that only credible persons with proven character will be appointed into office in his second term. The president who won the February 23rd presidential election, said this during a victory dinner organised for the All Progressives Congress Women and Youth Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday Saturday, March 2nd.

The President also responded to the call by the women and youths to include more of them in his new cabinet, saying that “persons of integrity would not be denied the appointment.” He thanked the women and youths immensely for working tirelessly to ensure he won the election.

“I very much appreciate your coming here tonight. I am congratulating ourselves for succeeding. If we had failed… My good God! Thank goodness we have succeeded.”

The first group comprise those who expected that the electoral math would be significantly affected by the farmer-herdsmen clashes in the Middle Belt; the fragile economic recovery and job losses; the widespread feeling of a captive government; and, finally, the shambolic party primaries.

The opposition, actively supported by a few vocal religious leaders and a section of the business elite, hammered the ruling All Progressives Congress on these points throughout the campaign that it seemed February 23 would deliver the final nail in President Muhammadu Buhari’s political coffin.
