The Osu District Magistrate Court on Tuesday began the extradition of
Deeba Acheampong, a Ghanaian musician who is accused of defiling and
assaulting his two step daughters in the United Kingdom.
This was after the state had entered a nolle proseque (a process to
discontinue a matter) at an Accra Circuit Court where he was previously
remanded lawfully into custody.
At the Osu District Magistrate Court, Deeba aka Richard Nimo had the
facts and charges read out for him but the court did not take his plea.

A goat killed his abusive owner in self-defense. The community rallied around the goat and saved its life.
On May 16, 1991, Carl Hulsey stepped outside with his beatin' stick for the last time. "Snowball," as the goat was known, rushed his tormentor, ramming him in the stomach, twice knocking him down.
Carl fled, but Snowball wasn't going to take any of that shit. The goat chased his former master up the porch stairs, and, with one swift butt, knocked him over the rail towards the ground five feet below. In the end, Carl died of a ruptured stomach.
When the news broke that the goat was going to be put down, the arbiters of his fate were flooded with letters, pleas for amnesty, and even threats of death if Snowball didn't walk. Some people even offered to adopt the deranged beast.
Snowball had become something of a folk hero to animal-rights activists, a symbol for resistance of oppression everywhere. One piece of advice for his supporters: at his coming home party, don't bring a pinata.

I’m yet to recoup money spent on Ije production – Chineze Anyaene
Ije: The Journey has become a household name in the Nigerian box
office. The film which was first shot in 2010, made unexpected
impression. The brain behind the much talked about movie, Chiene Ayaene,
speaks on the secret behind the success of the movie vis-a vis how she
achieved getting Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji on her
sets.
After two years you produced the award-winning movie, Ije: The Journey, would you say you are better off today?
I wouldn’t say I made much money from the film. We should all understand that the cinema owners have their rules and regulations. It depends on the contract you have with them. I have not recovered my money. I have only made N60 million and I think the film did well in the Nigerian box office at that time. Most movies internationally do not make their money from cinemas because of the percentages.

Bye-Bye : Mario Balotelli Packs His Bags For AC Milan
Goodbye and good riddance, or thanks
for the memories? After three years in Manchester, Mario Balotelli is
heading back to Italy in a deal worth almost £20million. It is a
financial loss for City, but is it a loss to the Premier League?
I'll say this for him, he's pretty reliable from 12 yards. Beyond that, his reliability is akin to that of Del Boy's three-wheeler; the £25million man is a plonker.
Whenever discussion turns to the striker, as it inevitability does on an almost daily basis, I'm reminded of the old phrase, 'just because you are a character, doesn't mean you have character'.
Football's great characters - George Best, Eric Cantona, Paul Gascoigne, Paolo di Canio - filled column inches off the pitch, but however serious their indiscretions without the ball, they demanded headlines for what they achieved with it.

Iraq war veteran who lost all four limbs in blast proudly shows off his double arm transplant - as pictures reveal extraordinary scale of medical team behind operation
An Iraq veteran who lost all four
limbs in a roadside bombing in Iraq almost four-years ago said today
he's looking forward to driving and swimming after undergoing a
double-arm transplant.
'I just want to get the most out of these arms, and just as goals come up, knock them down and take it absolutely as far as I can,' Brendan Marrocco said Tuesday.
The 26-year-old New Yorker spoke at a news conference at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was joined by surgeons who performed the arduous and complex 13-hour operation.
After he was wounded, Marrocco said, he felt fine using prosthetic legs, but he hated not having arms.
'You talk with your hands, you do everything with your hands, basically, and when you don't have that, you're kind of lost for a while,' he said. More pictures after the cut.....

The Majek Fashek interview: ‘I’m not a mad man and I don't do drugs, It's just me my beer and ogogoro(local gin)
It took me a while to find my way to the Sewage Road, Gowon Estate residence of Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek.
As I knocked on the gate, a young man named Ogaga came to
attend to me. I introduced myself as a Journalist from Nigerian
Entertainment Today (NET) and explained my mission. He tried to dissuade
me from seeing the rainmaker, insisting that I needed to speak with the
management before I could chat with him.
But Majek heard our dialogue, rushed to the gate and
insisted that I come in. The nineties hit-maker was dressed in a denim
shirt and jeans. It was 10am in the morning of Friday January 25. Majek
was already reeking of alchohol.
Since Ogaga had warned me against having an interview with
the veteran reggae artiste, I left the premises and waited not too far
from the house, hoping to catch Majek coming out of the apartment.
I was determined to speak with the man who many say has become mentally imbalanced, about to roam the streets.
Vindicated! Nigerian Pastor Peter Kayode Falarungbon Prophesied President Mahama’s Victory In Ghana Election
Head Pastor of Awakeners Chapel International at Ablekuma in Accra,
Ghana, has once again come into the news for all the ‘positive’ reasons
as many will term it, with his revelations coming to pass.
Rev. Dr Peter Kayode Falarungbon, a renowned Nigerian preacher who has lived and shepherd the church of God for over a decade in Ghana, said earlier before the demise of the late President, Professor Atta Mills that he (Pastor Kayode) saw a handing over of a baton from the late President Mills to the current President who was declared winner in last Friday’s election.
Suddenly, Professor Atta Mills passed on and automatically his vice took over.

Queen Salawa Abeni’s Daughter “Candy” Begins Audition For Her Reality Show “Opolo Orin”
Auditions for the first indigenous music reality show tagged “Opolo
Orin” would kick off in the south west states on the 20th of January
2013, beginning with Lagos at LTV, as well as Abeokuta and Ibadan.
Recall that the reality show “Opolo Orin” is a strictly Yoruba talent
hunt and singing competition that will showcase the very best talents in
Waka, Juju, Fuji, Apala and Afro beat. The brain behind this concept is
Queen Salawa Abeni’s first daughter Aminat Okikiola Ilori popularly
called “Candy”. Candy has been in and around the entertainment industry
for several years, she also doubles as the boss of Candiva Signature, an
entertainment company and record label that signed on rapper Big Sheff.
According to Candy, “Opolo Orin is going to be the first indigenous
talent show, we’ve seen the influx of several talent shows, but somehow
our indigenous music has been neglected despite the fact that we have
several cultures and languages, you don’t necessarily have to speak
English to be talented, so Opolo Orin is here to fill that void, and am
doing this because I feel there’s hypocrisy in other talent shows”.
Explain what inspired the concept of the show, she said “I saw an
audition from project fame, the Ibadan own to be precise, and an old man
didn’t make the cut because he sang in Yoruba language, and honestly,
he was talented, and that gave me this idea and I started working on
it”. Candy holds a Bsc in Business Management from University of Ilorin,
as well as Msc in Business Management from England. The show would have
veterans in the industry such as Admiral Dele Abiodun, Salome Eketunde
and Laolu Akins as judges, while celebrity guest judges would include
9ice, Olamide, Sir Shina Peters, King Sunny Ade and several others. The
winner of the show would smile home with a million naira, a promotional
and marketing deal as well as a musical tour with a veteran musician,
while the first runner up gets half a million naira and the second
runner up would get two hundred and fifty naira
