Bogus Bride Was Caught Out When She ‘Flinched’ As Fake Nigerian Husband Touched Her Knee During Wedding Ceremony

A bogus bride was caught out because she 'flinched' when her phoney husband-to-be touched her knee in a register office.

Emilia Ginova, 22, was jailed today for posing as a blushing bride ready to walk up the aisle with her groom.

But a court heard Ginova had only first seen Nigerian student Louis Esene on the day of the service - and was being paid £3,000 to take part in the sham marriage.

She was caught out by an eagle-eyed registrar who spotted her shocked reaction when Esene, 28, reached out to touch her leg.

Registration officer Donna Davies said: 'The groom tried to touch the bride’s knee but she looked very uncomfortable.

'She flinched and there was no interaction at all. I knew it was a scam.'

MUST READ: ‘We Could Afford To Enrich Ourselves And Go In 2015, But We’ve Chosen To Cry Out’

DID you ever think the day will come when the discussion will be about you leaving the PDP?

Yes, I knew. First and foremost, I didn’t think that PDP was progressive enough. Don’t forget that by the time I came back, PDP had already expelled me from the party when I was in Ghana. It was when I came that they now began to run around to reinstate my membership and by then the opposition was weak. But now the opposition is as progressive as they can be and beginning to build up. So it won’t be a bad idea to join them in building a very strong opposition in as much as they will remain progressive. If they are going to be a replacement of PDP, then there is no basis joining them. I am not in this battle for what I can get. I’m governor. I am blessed enough by God. I have been the Speaker, I become governor. I should be able for the rest of my life by God’s grace, to fend for myself. But the struggle is not about myself, it is about the society, it’s about the Nigerian community. Why should Nigeria that other countries used to come and beg for our assistance, be the one now begging other small countries around. Something is wrong and a wind of change is playing; so we should just support the wind of change.

Black Models Go Naked to Protest Racism in Fashion Industry [Explicit Photos]

About 40 black models, most of them women, staged a topless protest in Rio de Janeiro against the low presence of Afro-Brazilians on fashion catwalks.

“What strikes you, your racism or me?” one of the female demonstrators wrote on her chest during the protest late Wednesday timed to coincide with Rio Fashion Week.

The demonstration also coincided with the signing of a deal between the Fashion Week organizers and the Rio ombudsman’s office setting a 10 percent quota for black models in fashion shows, the G1 news website reported.

“This agreement crowns a joint initiative that can open a space that does not yet exist,” said Moises Alcuna, a spokesman for Educafro, a civil rights group championing the labor and educational rights of blacks and indigenous people.

One Killed, 7 Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

A commercial  bus and a mini-truck conveying margarine collided on the Arepo end of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday evening.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the accident was caused by a truck laden with noodles.

An eyewitness, Thomas Adelakun, said, “Trucks usually park on the side of the road. Around 5.45pm, one of the trucks was attempting to negotiate into the expressway but did not observe oncoming traffic.

“A passenger bus and a mini-truck laden with margarine, both on top speed, were driving by when the truck swerved in their direction. In a bid to avoid the truck, the bus swerved and  ran into the mini truck.

“The truck sped off. The margarine truck caught fire and it spread to the passenger bus.”

The passengers of the bus were not as fortunate as the bus fell on its side, making it almost impossible for them to escape from the fire.

The driver of the bus exited the bus with injuries.

A few minutes later, policemen attached to the Ibafo Police Division and some rescue officials rushed to the scene and rescued five passengers from the bus.

“One of the passengers was screaming for help but unfortunately, no one could help him. He was roasted before the police arrived,” an eyewitness said.

Actors Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kelly Preston were in attendance yesterday as thousands of Scientologists gathered in Clearwater, Florida for the dedication of their new $145million 'cathedral'.

The 377,000-square-foot Flag Building is the tallest building in downtown Clearwater, and has been in construction for nearly 15 years. The opening of the building will mark the first time Scientologists have a place to practice the 'Super Power' program, developed by the religion's founder L Ron Hubbard in the 1970s.

While the city was told to expect 10,000 Scientologists this weekend, the crowd gathered outside the Flag Building yesterday was noticeably smaller. The Tampa Bay Times estimated that numbers could have been less than 6,000.
