Google deletes search results about millionaire banker blamed for causing financial crisis and referee who lied as 'right to be forgotten' kicks in on European searches

The search engine firm has removed links to a series of articles - including MailOnline stories - from search results under the new - and highly controversial - 'right to be forgotten' granted earlier this year by European judges. The stories have not been removed by MailOnline, which described the move as similar to 'burning books in a library'. 

 They include a story about Dougie McDonald (pictured right), who was a Scottish top-flight football referee who was found to have lied about his reasons for granting a penalty. The notice below is displayed when his name is searched for in Google.

A British philanderer by the name of Steve Frazer was publicly shamed yesterday by his two girlfriends. The two scorned ladies somehow found out about each other, met and hatched a plan to seek revenge on Steve.

Nigerian Government Says No Going Back On ‘70 per cent’ Vehicle Import Duty

The Federal Government on Wednesday defended its auto policy that requires vehicle importers, who do not manufacture locally, to pay 70 per cent duty on imported cars.

The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, said the policy is necessary to check the activities of importers putting a “strain on our (Nigeria’s) foreign reserves.”

He disclosed that Nigerians spend about $3.4 billion (N544 billion) on importation of used cars and spare parts.

Alhaja Jelilat Arisekola Alao,(Mummy Abdul) died last night in a ghastly motor accident, Jelilat, died in an auto-crash at Eyenkorin, near Ilorin, Kwara State on Tuesday evening. She was aged 62.She had two children for the Muslim leader, Abdulahi and Fatimah. She was buried at her residence in Apata area of Ibadan on Wednesday  May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
