Few days ago, Nigerian singer, Davido, cancelled his US tour to return to Nigeria. According to him, he cancelled the tour to return to NYSC camp. However, the singer has not reported to the NYSC camp but was present to campaign for his uncle, Senator Adeleke, in Osun state yesterday just as many predicted he was only using NYSC as an excuse to cancel the tour as he did it to be part of his uncle’s campaign.

A Nigerian man said to be most wanted fraudster in the United Kingdom has been extradited to the UK from US. 

A man who appeared in the National Crime Agency’s ‘most wanted fraudsters’ appeal has appeared in court after being extradited from the US. According to BBC, Bayo Awonorin was arrested in Maryland and charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to launder money. .

He was originally arrested in 2012 as part of an alleged £12m money laundering investigation involving public bodies. But he later fled the country while on bail, Lincolnshire Police said. .

President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

The President accepted the resignation on Friday, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said.

The President also approved that the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, should oversee the Ministry of Finance with effect from today.

Covenant University Registrar, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo, has been relieved of his job by the university management just after an expelled student of the school who won a court case, accused him of setting him up. 

Following the scandal which has been a major topic on social media, Chancellor of Covenant University, Bishop Oyedepo who addressed students during the Thursday chapel service for 100 and 200 level students warned against having an “intimate ally”, a phrase used by the registrar in the leaked chats. When our correspondent visited the minister ’ s office located on the seventh floor of the headquarters of the ministry, it was observed that she was in her office working.

Officials of the ministry, who spoke to The PUNCH on condition of anonymity, said they were not aware of her resignation.

Imo State Police Command has arrested Chukwudi Chukwu and Bethel for allegedly stealing the corpse of a woman from Ikeduru LGA, Imo state.

It was gathered that the suspects demanded the sum of N5m before they would release the body of the deceased to her family.

According to reports, they stole the corpse from Jesus Hospital’s Mortuary located at Akabor, Ikeduru.

62-Year Old Herbalist Arrested In Ogun State While Allegedly Trying To Kill His Apprentice For Money Ritual

Ganiyu Idowu, a 62 years old herbalist has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and attempting to kill his apprentice, Akanni, for money ritual at Oniyorin, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The suspect attempted the act alongside two of his accomplices, Balogun Edun and Mathew Odunewu, on August 30, 2018.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, the suspects took Akanni to a river bank at about 11.00 p.m. but were sighted by a surveillance team of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Adigbe with the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has said that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)‎, Adams Oshiomhole, is suffering from multiple personality syndrome.

New Telegraph reports that Jonathan who described as misleading Oshiomhole’s allegation on national television that vote buying in Nigerian started when he was president, said it is disingenuous for anybody to link the former president with the incidence of vote buying.

Jonathan in a statement by his media adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, ‎said voting buying in Nigeria started in Edo state gubernatorial election in 2016, a year after Jonathan his left office.

It noted that while in office between 2010 and 2015, the former president conducted many elections adjudged as free and fair by both national and international observers.

According to the statement, there was no incident of vote buying in the two general elections conducted by Jonathan in 2011 and 2015, and off-season gubernatorial and parliamentary elections in Anambra, Ekiti, Ondo and Edo states.

APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole, has fired back at former presidnet Goodluck Jonathan, who in a statement released by his media aide, Ikechuwku Eze, said Oshiomole is under enormous stress and in a fragile psychological state. Jonathan said this while reacting to Oshiomole's claim that vote buying during an election, started in his administration.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Simon Ebegbulem, Oshiomole said Jonathan is a zoologist from the swamps of Otueke who ran a disastrous presidency.  He said it was an all-time low for the former president to question Oshiomhole’s mental health in his response.
