BREAKING!! Election Tribunal Nullifies Governor Wike’s Election

The Rivers State Election Petitions Tribunal has nullified the election Nyesom Wike as governor of Rivers State.

The election was cancelled on the ground that his victory did not comply substantially with electoral guidelines.

Justice Suleiman Ambrosa therefore ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.


The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Dakuku Peterside had dragged Wike to the tribunal, praying the court to nullify the election on the ground there were widespread irregularities in the election.

He had also alleged that there was no election in most parts of the state.

The tribunal, which was supposed to sit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, sat in Abuja.
