Trump Attracts Largest Crowds The World Has Ever Seen At Tree Lighting Ceremony

Donald Trump may have disputed the number of people who were at his inauguration but there was no arguing against the empty seats at his tree lighting ceremony. The United States president performed the annual ritual yesterday evening but he was probably expecting a few more guests. A number of images from the event at the Ellipse in President’s Park, Washington, USA, showed the sparse crowd and social media users were quick to flag it up.


The US president has been vocal on apparently getting people to see the importance of the holiday period again and wanted them to say ‘Merry Christmas again’. If this didn’t seem that interesting, the Beach Boys, Jack Wagner, Wynonna Judd, Craig Campbell also performed for the audience who were there. That wasn’t as good a line-up as last year though, which had Kelly Clarkson, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Marc Anthony, Yolanda Adams, The Lumineers, James Taylor and Chance the Rapper. It was the 95th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting. Donald Trump‘s planned visit to the UK early next year has apparently been cancelled after a row erupted between Donald Trump and Theresa May after he retweeted controversial videos from far-right group Britain First.
