Alex Omokudu and ex-wife patricia |
Alex Omokudu, a Nigerian Pastor in London who has three children with wife Patricia has, in several of his sermons and in his book ‘Deliverance prayer Bomb’ spoken about how he was a nobody until he met his wife, Patricia; through whom God has made him somebody. In his book, he recollected how following a phone call from the UK by Patricia the Holy Spirit clearly spoke to him, “This lady is your wife”. Is Pastor Alex Omokudu now saying that the Holy Spirit makes mistakes? Is that the best way repay a woman whom you admit helped make you into a ‘somebody’? As a man of God, whose voice are you listening to? God? If so, did God tell you to divorce your wife?
Pastor Alex Omokudu has several times during the sermons talked about how he was a nobody and Patrica brought him to London. How he got his papers and how from nobody Patrica saw the greatness in him and married him and he became somebody."
"Before they ended the marriage there was an open fight between both during the service on the altar."
It is rather disappointing to learn that Pastor Benny Hinn chose to bless the remarriage of Pastor Alex Omokudu instead of working on reconciling him and his former wife. Of all men of God, Pastor Benny Hinn should understand the power of reconciliation; since he went through a similar experience with his own wife. Why could he not help a friend to achieve the same miracle?
It is important that we remind ourselves of what God says about divorce. In the book of Malachi, God states unequivocally that “I hate divorce”. He sees marriage as a lifetime commitment as “they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate” (Matthew 19:6). God, however, acknowledged that due to the hardness of man’s heart, divorces would occur and therefore made some provisions in Deuteronomy 24:1-4 to protect the rights of those going through a divorce, especially women.
We also have to acknowledge the pain that Patricia has and will be going through. During a divorce, the enemy uses discouragement against believers who struggle to come to terms with the fact that the covenant they made with God and their spouse, to stay together until death parts them, is now being broken. We are here to encourage you and anyone who may be facing the same hopelessness, that there is hope in the Lord. Trust God to take care of you spiritually, emotionally and physically during this difficult time in your life.
According to an eyewitness and Facebook user, Joy Oghogho, the pastor divorced his wife 3 months ago without any reasons and went ahead to marry a 25 yr old white girl in his office while service was going on downstairs in the church last year.
