APC Primaries: Minister, Buhari’s Adviser, Others Blame One Another For Violence

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, has blamed “desperate” aspirants for Saturday’s violent disruption of the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries at Kayode Oluyemi Stadium in Ado Ekiti.

One of his co-contestants, Babafemi Ojudu, a special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters, however, blamed Mr Fayemi for the violence.

The exercise was suspended indefinitely after some supporters of 32 aspirants disrupted the voting process accusing Mr Fayemi, a leading governorship aspirant, of compromising the process.

A meeting of the aspirants held with the Organising Committee led by Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, resolved to suspend the election indefinitely amidst continued agitations by supporters of the other 32 aspirants.

Amber Rudd finally bowed to massive pressure last night and quit saying she had to 'take responsibility' for misleading parliament over deportation targets for illegal migrants.

With no sign of the scandal blowing over, the Home Secretary decided to fall on her sword rather than face more humiliation.

'I feel it is necessary to do so because I inadvertently misled the Home Affairs Select Committee,' she said - admitting she 'should have been aware' the targets existed.  

The dramatic departure will be a huge blow for Theresa May - and potentially leaves her personally vulnerable.

Tinubu Tears Apart Ikimi; Says He’s A Devious Man With An Awful Past

Chieftain of the opposition All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has launched a blistering response to allegations made against him by a former Minister of External Affairs, Tom Ikimi.

 Mr. Ikimi, who last week left the APC and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], had blamed Mr. Tinubu for his ordeals while in the opposition party.

He said the former governor hijacked the party and was now using his vantage position in the fold to frustrate anyone who could stand up to him.

The former minister particularly blamed Mr. Tinubu for frustrating his ambition to become the party’s national chairman. Read Mr. Ikimi’s allegations here. Mr. Tinubu has now responded, describing Mr. Ikimi as a man with an awful past who could not be trusted with the leadership of the party.

Ikimi Expose Bola Tinubu Over ConocoPhilips $1.5 Billion Oil Deal With Minister Of Petroleum & PDP Chairman

Departing APC chieftain, Chief Tom Ikimi, has taken a swipe at former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the recently approved $1.5 billion oil deal between Oando Plc and ConocoPhillips in the upstream sector. The deal, aggrieved APC members told TheCable, was struck in June at a secret meeting between Tinubu and minister of petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, at the Abuja home of the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mua’azu ─ a day to the APC national convention, where Ikimi failed in his bid to become APC national chairman. 
He believes Tinubu worked against his bid and finally wrote to the party on Tuesday to withdraw his membership, but not before carpeting the former Lagos State governor who was said to have opposed Ikimi because he could “sell” APC to PDP.

Political gladiators in Oyo State spent the last six weeks fine-tuning a winning strategy for the 2015 general election, particularly the governorship contest. A series of nocturnal and daylight meetings have been held within and outside the state by the political actors in different camps across the four major parties in the state- the All Progressives Congress (APC), Accord Party, Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The first layer of the meetings was largely intra-party as it involved those in each of the camps in the parties. The second layer involved parties of “like-minds” and the third was composed of representatives of the parties. One of the striking features of the meetings is that it brought together politicians that sure pundits would consider as sworn political enemies.

Why Gov. Ajimobi Must Not Come Back

OYO is a very peculiar state in Nigeria. Huge in endowments, natural and human, it also prides itself as a state that had once witnessed the Midas touch of development, while parading the footpaths of iconic figures of modern history.
