Yinka Ayefele Donates 50Million Naira Hall,Books To Alma Mata

Apparently irked by the deplorable state of his alma mata, Dr, Yinka Ayefele, MON on Thursday made a donation of 5000 big notes to Ipoti Community Secondary School in Ipoti Ekiti where he left 28 years ago.
The popular musician also laid the foundation of a N50 million multi-purpose hall for the use of the school and the community.
Earlier in her speech, the representative of the state governor, Dr(Mrs) Eniola Ajayi, the Commissioner for Environment said the state want kind hearted indigenes of the state that can come back and improve their community to complement the efforts of the state government.
“The government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi has done a lot in terms of turning the fortunes of the state around. The government has done a lot in the areas of education.” She said.
The event which held at the school premises was attended by the Chairman of Ijero local government, Hon. Bode Agbeleye, the newly installed Onipoti of Ipoti Ekiti, HRH James Oladipupo Kolade.
Ayefele enjoined members of the community to always give back to the community saying “It is not that I’m very rich but I believe that with the little I have,i can contribute which will still go a long way in making some impacts” he said.
Reacting to the gesture, the Principal of the school, Mr. Bolarinwa Rufus Taiwo thanked the donor and enjoined other old students of the school to emulate Ayefele.
A release signed by his Publicist, David Ajiboye said Ayefele is also giving back to the society through the Yinka Ayefele Foundation where several less privilege has benefited immensely .

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mohammed Ndabawa, on Wednesday described as untrue the story of a fish with human parts reported in Ibadan on Tuesday.

The Oyo State capital was thrown into confusion on Tuesday when a middle-age woman, Ramota Salawu, raised the alarm that a fish she bought at Gege area of the town suddenly turned into a half human.

Hundreds of residents trooped to Akindele Compound, Gege, to catch a glimpse of the ‘miracle fish’ in a bucket where it was kept.

But the police boss, while addressing reporters in his office in Ibadan on Wednesday, said the object was a baby octopus, assuring the residents that they have no reason to fear.

At least 77 people have been killed and more than 130 injured including one Briton after a packed Spanish passenger train derailed on a bend last night. 

All eight carriages of the Madrid to Ferrol train came off the tracks near the city of Santiago de Compostela

The train was traveling at 220 kilometers (140 miles) an hour, while the speed limit was 80 kilometers per hour, it was reported in Spanish newspaper El Mundo. El Pais also reported it may have been traveling three times nearly the speed limit.

Ardent followers of his daily devotional will recall that on Page 56 of the 22nd-July edition of his devotional, the pastor wrote that one Linda, a blogger and Facebook activist has been sending him several text messages, asking for an undisclosed amount of money else she would work with journalists all over the world to destroy his ministry.

Well, at first, it was easy to believe that the man of God may not have been referring to Linda Ikeji; after all, he did not actually print her full name. Housewife Dies During Sex With Lover In Hotel

The price of adultery is always tragic if one considers what happened at the weekend in Lagos between a young man and a married woman in a hotel room.

The man took the housewife identified as Glory Abbey to a popular hotel where she died during sex romp between the lovers.

The yet to be identified man quietly abandoned her corpse in the room they lodged and fled without informing the hotel’s management about what happened.

The incident happened at Kings of Queens Hotel located at 11, Otunba Oladokun Street, Lanre Bus Stop, Igando, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

What could have caused her death was not yet known because the autopsy report is not yet out.

According to the hotel’s manager identified as Saliu, the woman came to the hotel with the young man, booked a room and went in.

Ago Okota area of Lagos was in the news weekend, following the discovery of a kidnapper’s den, on Oyegbusi street, where a Briton who was kidnapped shortly after arriving the country from Amsterdam, was kept for five days before he was rescued.

The three-storey building located in the area known as new sight, towards Ago end of Okota, could be said to be sited at a vantage position for the kidnappers, as it enables them to have a clear view of the entire area, down to the popular Apple junction in Amuwo-Odofin.

It was gathered that the kidnappers whose exact number could not be ascertained, had been using the uncompleted building for long to hold their victims hostage until ransom was paid. Investigation carried out revealed that anytime they made a catch, they would drive in with their victims who are usually blindfolded.

On reaching the compound, they would lead their victims right to the third floor from where they would keep them in one of the rooms until ransom was paid. At the end of any successful operation, the kidnappers, as gathered, would leave for their respective places of abode, leaving a lone security man identified as Nonye, to look after their prey.

The 32-year-old security man who resides in Ikotun area of Lagos, as reliably gathered, was employed as a guard close to two years ago to checkmate usage of the uncompleted building by illegal occupants. But little did his employer (names withheld) know Nonye had a sinister motive up his sleeve.

Commotion Over ‘Mermaid’ Found In Ibadan, Nigeria [Photos]

AKINDELE House, Isale Asaka, Foko, Ibadan, an erstwhile sleepy and serene community in the capital city of Oyo State, came alive on Tuesday and it became a Mecca of sort, when the news of a miniature mermaid (omo Yemoja) filtered through the city.

It took a while before the Nigerian Tribune crew got access to the house, a storey building, and when it finally did, the head of the family, Alhaji Raufu A. Salau, said he was sleeping upstairs when he heard a lot of unusual noise which forced him to come downstairs.

According to him, “Ramota, his granddaughter, sells fried and roasted fish in the house and, as usual, purchased a carton of frozen fish that morning. She was in the process of cleaning the fish and separating those to be roasted from the ones to be fried when she was said to have screamed out loud and called on neighbours to come to her aid.”

A 40 year old man is being held at the Nyeri police station after allegedly being caught engaging in an unnatural act with a hen. 40 year old Paul Nderitu from kigwandi in Tetu, Nyeri is said to have been caught in the weird act by his ten year old son yesterday evening. Anxiety gripped some parts of Port Harcourt yesterday over an accident involving four occupants of a black Toyota Corolla vehicle, one of them believed to be The mother of the wife of President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, Mrs. Iwari-Oba and other very close family members of the first Lady Dame Patience 

A driver, an elderly woman who unconfirmed reports said was a relation of the First Lady, 12-year-old and a 30-year-old woman were in the car before it lost control and tumbled into the bushes at the Isiokpo Bridge, Owerri-Port Harcourt expressway at about 4pm.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who first reached the accident scene confirmed the elderly woman and the 12-year-old girl dead, while the driver and a middle-aged woman survived with serious injuries.

The two survivors were taken to an undisclosed hospital, while the corpses of the old woman and the teenage girl were taken to the mortuary of the Isiokpo General Hospital.

When triplets Audrey O'Donnell and Alan and Eric Lucas were born in 1933 they were so tiny their chances of survival looked slim.

Without the the benefit of today's technology, doctors had predicted their mother Doris may have been carrying twins using an ear trumpet.

Audrey was born first weighing 5lb, followed by Alan 20 minutes later weighing 3lb and surprise addition Eric came 20 minutes after that at just 2lb.

They were wrapped in cotton wool and cooking foil to keep them warm.

But against all the odds, the trio have just celebrated their 80th birthdays, surrounded by many of their 35 grandchildren.

Just as foreign currencies especially US Dollars and British Pounds are common features in Nigeria's daily financial transactions, so is the number of international GSM lines in local telephone conversations by state governors, ministers, top security chiefs and several other Very Important Personalities, VIPs to avoid the rising frequent wiretap of private discussions by the nation's intelligence operatives.

Saturday Sun gathered that the number of political office holders and top government functionaries using foreign telephone lines in Nigeria has in the past few months increased geometrically due to an unprecedented acquisition of "spigot and surveillance equipment by the intelligence agencies especially the Department of State Security, DSS in the last two years to enhance their ability to record, retrieve and analyse conversations of certain persons under profile or surveillance."

To safeguard their telephone conversations from the reach of security agents, investigations reveal that many serving state governors, current ministers, former governors, a number of heads of federal parastatals and agencies as well as some VIPs who are involved in national politics and who have the financial means have resorted to using GSM lines used in United Kingdom, USA, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Ghana and others to make sensitive telephone calls and discussions.

Sources have told SaharaReporters that last week’s “judicial decision” which set free of murder charges Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to late Nigerian dictator, Sanni Abacha, is owed to President Goodluck Jonathan, who was following a “spiritual” fortune-telling that would enable him to win the 2015 election.

After Mr. Joshua's spiritual “forecast” was told to Mr. Jonathan, SaharaReporters sources say he instructed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke to take care of the judges involved in the case, giving him a war chest of $2 million.

Father Banned From Seeing His Newborn Son After Contracting Horrendous Herpes Rash Which Could Have Killed The Child

A father was banned from seeing his newborn son after contracting a horrific herpes rash. 

Tom Greenhalgh, 27, was not allowed to be in contact with his son Austin for two weeks because the rare condition could have killed the newborn baby.

His upper body and head were completely covered in painful, weeping sores after he picked up a severe form of the herpes virus.

Mr Greenhalgh, from Ilkeston, Nottingham, believes that he became infected by nervously scratching himself as wife Kerry - already two weeks overdue - went into labour.

Mr Greenhalgh, who already had sensitive skin and eczema, was told he probably contracted the virus from something like a door handle and transferred it to a raw patch on his body.

He felt fine as little Austin arrived at Nottingham City Hospital and went home to get some sleep.

But a few hours later he woke up to find his neck was inflamed and painful and the rash quickly spread to his chest and face to his hairline.

Child defilement is becoming a source of concern in Benin-City, Edo State capital. It is even more worrisome when the act is carried out by supposedly men of God.

In the last few weeks, no fewer than five children have, allegedly, been defiled in Benin-City by men old enough to be their fathers. On Thursday, Edo State Police Command paraded 32 suspected criminals, amongst them, three accused of defiling children. The suspects include a pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, Abudu, Edo State, Eze Fidelis, who was said to have had carnal knowledge of two girls: Joy, 9, and Anthonia,11.

There is also the case of one Grace, 12, who was sent on an errand by her mother to get her a rechargeable lantern from a hall within their compound. When the said girl failed to return after 30 minutes, the mother went in search of her, only to discover that one Segun Oteru, 42, was allegedly having carnal knowledge of her in the hall.

The woman raised the alarm which attracted members of the public while the suspect was arrested.

The incident happened on July 6. The following day, one Saturday Cole, 35, and a co-tenant of the complainant (names withheld), allegedly lured the complainant's daughter, identified as Mariam, 11, into his room and had a carnal knowledge of her. While the victim was coming out from the suspect's room, her elder brother saw her and, on inquiry, discovered that the victim was not putting on her pants. The victim narrated her ordeal in the hands of the suspect. According to the victim, "uncle has always bought me things but I didn't know he wanted to have anything with me. He forced me and removed my dress, I was shouting but he closed my mouth and forced his penis inside me".

One of these is how an adulterous woman is punished. Well, the irony is that, it is not the wife that gets punished for her adulterous undertaking. It is her husband. He dies, if he continues in the marriage. But, according to the communities, the right to punish resides with the deity. As the communities claim, the deity first exposes the infidelity and the man, together with the clan, takes it from there. Punishment is applied only when the woman involved, fails to confess and performs some traditional rites. First to speak on the issue is 96- year old Eze Arunsi Ota, Ezeogo of Umuchiakuma, Ihechiowa with his nephew, Prince Kalu Uche Ota, 32, a bricklayer. Also, in an interview, the traditional ruler of Amaeke Ututu, Ezeogo Nchehe Okeke in company of the palace secretary, Godwin Kalu Nwankwo with the palace treasurer, Cletus Ulu Ekea, reveals how the deity works, kills, its appeasement, and futile prayers by Christians in the community to destroy it. While the monarchs were emphatic that prayers can never destroy the covenant that binds every married woman in the communities, some pastors think other wise, claiming that their prayers had destroyed the potency of the deity. In some places men kill their wives because they suspected that she was committing adultery but here, if your wife commits adultery, the deity reveals it immediately to you. How does it work? Once a woman is married to a man from Ihechiowa and the bride price paid, no man shall have sex with her. The law goes even beyond having sexual intercourse; it also forbids any other man to walk across or over the woman's legs when she stretches her legs while sitting. That is, no man crosses over her legs or embraces her, touches her breasts or slaps or touches her buttocks.
