Pastor Drowns While Conducting Baptism On Church Members


Tragedy struck yesterday, February 6 after a pastor drowned while baptising his church members in the river at Blood River village in Seshego outside Polokwane in South Africa.
It was gathered that the pastor entered the flooded river and was swept away.
The church members who were about to be baptised, were left reeling from shock as they watched helplessly as the head of their church was swam away to the raging tides

Lagos State Government has arrested no fewer than 200 cart pushers across all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of the State for constituting environmental nuisances.

The arrest was made possible through a joint environmental sanitation raid by the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps whose enforcement officers simultaneously arrested cart pushers who pick refuse from citizens and dump wastes at roadsides, major roads and other public places across the State.

Speaking on the arrest at Safety Arena, Bolade, Oshodi, the Board Chairman of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps, DIG Isreal Ajao said a cleaner and healthier Lagos remains a top priority of the state government in its transition from a mega city to a smart city.

Donald Trump has been caught in another awkward exchange with wife Melania . The President and First Lady were walking to a jet when NBC News captured Trump appearing to try and grab his wife’s hand and then, when he failed, moving her out of the way to get closer to the TV cameras.
The shows that Melania’s long yellow coat was draped over her shoulders and her arms tucked inside.
But Trump didn’t seem to notice his wife’s hands were completely out of reach and appears to try and grab one.
When he failed to get hold of her he stopped suddenly and appeared to awkwardly move her out of the way so he could wave to journalists instead.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has declared that the amnesty granted by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to cultists who killed 23 persons in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state, has no impact in Rivers State.

Governor Wike spoke, on Tuesday, during the signing of a bill at the Government House, Port Harcourt, saying that the wanted cultists, said to be kingpins of the Don Waney’s gang, would be brought to justice.

He declared that the N20 million placed on their heads still stands, adding that security agencies would be empowered to bring the criminals to account for their crimes.

The brave woman gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, Maxwell on the halls of the hospital after going into labour. The woman took off her pants after she felt the baby’s head trying to pop out while entering the hospital with her husband.

The nurses came rushing down the hall as they helped her lay down and handled the birth safely.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts toward improving cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The information is in a two-paragraph statement issued by Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in Abuja on Tuesday.

Kassim Afegbua, the media adviser to ex-Nigerian leader, Ibrahim Babangida, who was declared wanted by the police, has sued for fundamental rights enforcement.

Dipo Anisulowo disclosed his resignation in a letter released to newsmen.

He blamed Governor Fayose’s mission to destroy the PDP as reason for resigning.

Anisulowo, in a letter made available to the press, said a copy of the letter had been sent to the governor and his resignation takes immediate effect.

Husband Killer Maryam Sanda Begs Court For Bail

Maryam Sanda, who is accused of killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello, on Monday begged an Abuja High Court sitting at Jabi, to grant her bail because she was three months pregnant.
Sanda, who was remanded in the Suleja prison, Niger State in November 2017, was alleged to have stabbed to the death Bilyaminu, son of erstwhile PDP Chairman, Dr. Haliru Bello.

She was arraigned on an amendment charge before the court alongside her mother, Mrs. Maimuna Aliyu, her brother, Aliyu and one Sadiya Aminu for culpable homicide and conspiracy.


At the resumed hearing, Sanda told the court through her counsel, Joseph Daudu (SAN) that she was three months old pregnant, hence, bail was necessary.

Daudu told the court that a new application praying for the bail of the defendant was filed on Jan.26.

At a village in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State where a 30-year-old mother of three and her three-month-old baby were shot at and killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen who ambushed her and others and robbed them of their valuables.

Thursday, February 1, 2018, Opabunmi village an Ibadan settlement off the Moniya-Ijaiye Road in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State was sore. The hitherto serene atmosphere pierced with wailings from the family of a certain Mr Badmos and the other village residents.

One of them, 30-year-old Mrs Mariam Badmos, was to be buried with her three-month-old baby in the backyard of her husband’s house in the village.

About 18 hours before then, Mrs Badmos, popularly called Iya Fathia was vibrant, full of life and happy to have witnessed the end of January. But at about 8:00 p.m on the last day of the month just ended, her life and that of her baby were brutally cut short allegedly by Fulani herdsmen on her way home with her husband and others after closing from their different shops at Akinyele community. She was interred at about 1:30 p.m, with the small grave of her daughter beside hers.

2019 Election: OBASANJO TAKES CAMPAIGN AGAINST BUHARI TO USA

The 2019 battle between President Muhammadu Buhari and his former boss, ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, might have taken an international dimension as the former President is set to take the battle to foreign lands, beginning with South Africa today. Indications to that effect emerged yesterday when Saturday Telegraph gathered that Obasanjo, barring any last minute change of plans, has concluded plans to hold a meeting with some Nigerians and foreigners in Johannesburg today.
Sources close to the former president told Telegraph that Obasanjo has also commenced high-level talks with some institutions in the United States, partnering with the Jimmy Carter Foundation and other lobby groups to checkmate the return of Buhari. The groups, according to sources, are to be used in mounting pressure on international donors to prevail on Buhari not to seek second term in office.

Some people really have no shame. A young man was seriously dealt with for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl who asked him for some money in Bayelsa state. According to reports, the young man took advantage of the little girl as he allegedly raped her in the process.

This did not go down well with the residents of the area after the news broke as they accosted the accused, stripped him off his clothes and flogged him mercilessly in front of a baying crowd including children and women.

Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom State governor on Agriculture, and actor, Moses Armstrong, has lost his wife, Rita, today in a fatal auto crash along the Benin-Ore road.

She was also a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Rita had escaped death in March 2012 after she was involved in a near-fatal accident in Lagos along Ikorodu road when the driver of the cab she was in lost control and rammed into a fence with her sustaining serious injuries on the face. 

She left two kids behind. May her soul RIP.

“Diaz-Balart, who had been attended by a group of doctors for several months due to a state of profound depression, committed suicide this morning,” Cubadebate website said.
Castro Junior, 68, also known as “Fidelito” because of how much he looked like his father, had initially been hospitalized for depression and then continued treatment outside of hospital.

The traditional ruler's summit which took place in Port-Harcourt last Tuesday was almost marred by an unpleasant confrontation between the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdurasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

The tense situation could have snowballed into a bigger crisis but for reason that eventually prevailed. The incident occurred at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt.

It was gathered that the Ooni of Ife ,Oba Ogunwusi had just finished giving a vote of thanks, and was on his way back to his seat when  his CSO, Mr. Emmanuel Olawale Kolawole, who led other  security aides of the monarch  allegedly had a brush with the Oluwo, who  appeared to  be blocking the Ooni from accessing his seat.

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), which was closed down for over a year due to lack of finances from state government has been given a recognition. 

In spite of repeated workers strike that held down academic and other activities at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in the last one year, the institution has been ranked as the best state university in Nigeria.

A statement by the institution’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Lekan Fadeji, said the latest ranking by Webometric, which puts the Institution as 14th overall in the country and 3680 in the World, goes to confirm that despite the debilitating effect of the industrial crisis, LAUTECH’s leadership position among its peers remains unchallenged.
