The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday arraigned a 50-year-old man, Ahmed Echodo, for allegedly misleading the police to conduct a raid at a building belonging to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday.

According to the one-count charge, two defendants were accused of the offense, although only Mr. Echodo was arraigned at a magistrate court in Abuja.

An audio tape obtained by Saharareporters has revealed how Nigerian Senator Dino Melaye compromised Justice Akon Ikpeme, the tribunal judge who handled his election case in 2015.

In the tape, which captures a telephone conversation between Justice (Mrs) Akoh and Mr. Melaye, the judge is overheard asking Mr. Melaye to give her a bribe in US dollars.

She also asks Mr. Melaye to assist a person Dino repeatedly referred to as her "daughter" secure a job at the Cross Rivers State Ministry of Health.

Nigerian Nursing Assistant Charged Following Death Of His 98-Year-Old Patient

A Nigerian nursing assistant is facing multiple charges in connection with the death of a 98-year-old patient that triggered a probe by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI claims Certified Nursing Assistant Hakim Ogunkunle was responsible for causing injuries that led to the death of Edna Warren, a patient at Newnan Health and Rehab. It has charged him with aggravated battery and exploitation and intimidation of an elderly person.

More charges could result from Friday’s autopsy after the findings are turned over to the local district attorney’s office, according to Public Affairs Deputy Director Bahan Rich with the GBI.

A prominent member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos is dead. Rasaq Bello, popularly called Hamburger, was shot on Monday in the Shogunle area of Lagos during the local council primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was shot by members of a rival gang allegedly led by Samson Agbetoye, popularly called Golden. Golden is said to belong to the MC Olumo faction of the NURTW in the state.

It was gathered that trouble started shortly after the council primary in the Shogunle ward was abruptly aborted after members protested the modalities for the conduct of the exercise. The exercise was held at the Shogunle Town Hall.

The 41-year-old golfer was arrested for DUI around 3am in Jupiter, Florida on Monday. Sources tell TMZ that Woods was 'driving erratically, all over the road'. An officer smelled alcohol on Woods' breath but the golfer refused to take a breathalyzer test. In Florida, refusing to take the test results in an immediate DUI arrest.

Court Declares LG Marriage Certificates Illegal

A Lagos High Court has barred local government areas from conducting marriages across the country.

The court, in a judgment , declared that the Local Government Unified Marriage Certificate was unknown to law and therefore unconstitutional , null and void.
