Tinubu, Osinbajo ‘Must Leave APC’

•Asiwaju Tinubu and Vice President Osinbajo

Ayo Adebanjo, an elder statesman and Afenifere Leader, has challenged the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to pull out of the APC having been “used and dumped” by the party and President Muhammadu Buhari, whom they helped into power.
In an exclusive interview with Sunday Telegraph on Sunday, April 8, 2018, Adebanjo said since President Buhari has failed to fulfill all his pre-election promises to the South-West, who were moved to vote for the APC and the President, the most auspicious thing to do for Tinubu was to pull out from the government.
“What can we say other than for the same Tinubu, who took us there to take us out? Has he asked the Vice President to resign? I don’t look favourably at Tinubu for still keeping the ACN into the APC. What have we got out of it? The fact that he is sidelined is known. What could be keeping him there? A party which he helped to put into office is now doing things against its own people. What a world?”

APC: The Die Is Cast As Three Groups Do Battle

Whoever thought that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), exactly five years after its formation five years ago primarily to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would find itself in almost similar circumstances as the main opposition party, which at the height of its reign boasted that it would rule Nigeria for 60 years. Today, the APC is facing an existential threat, with its governors as dramatis personae, over the divisions arising from the approval granted by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the APC to extend the tenure of its elected and appointed officials at all levels.

At heart of the issue threatening to snowball into a full-blown crisis, if not well managed at today’s NEC meeting, is the chairmanship post currently occupied by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. Other executives of the party affected by the push for and against the tenure extension are merely collateral damage. The push for Oyegun to stay on or step down at the expiration of his tenure on June 13, has seen the APC split into three groups with the all-influential and powerful governors, who control the party’s structures at the grassroots, leading the charge.

Parts of Britain are Broken. Until We Fix Them, Stabbings And Shootings Will Continue

Image result for shootings and deaths in schools and neighbourhoods in London and across the UK have been on the rise.
The victims of fatal stabbings and shootings across London so far this year – some victims are yet to be pictured or identified

Sometimes the smallest things drive home the enormity. Amid the mound of flowers marking the spot where another teenager lost her life in London’s killing fields stands a bag of Doritos, some bottles of fizzy drinks and a pack of false eyelashes. These everyday items serve as poignant reminders of the youth and ambition of someone who should still be alive. Instead Tanesha Melbourne-Blake lies dead – just 17 years old, gunned down from a moving car on a humdrum suburban street.

How Anger Management Can Help the UK Government Control Youth Homicide By Counsellor Funmi Ademilua

The number of shootings and deaths in schools and neighbourhoods in London and across the UK have been on the rise. These incidences have continued to cause emotional distress to parents who end up losing their children to knife and gun violence, and who continue to believe that their communities are no longer safe from the most extreme of homicide cases.

This perception when combined with the increased lethality of youth violence requires that urgent measures be taken in preventing violence. There are hundreds of violence prevention measures that are been used in schools and communities, but very little is known about how effective they are.

In order to prevent and reduce cases of homicide in the UK, we need to be able to first understand offenders.
