The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in what appears a move to broker peace, on Wednesday met with the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
The revered monarchs have been at loggerheads over the classification of obas in Yorubaland.

The debate was started by Oba Gbadebo, who classified the Alake as senior in position to the Awujale.
His position was based on the classification provided by the colonial masters based on their remuneration.
Oba Adetona, however, objected to this, declaring the Alake as a junior oba in Yorubaland and even in his domain in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Wednesday’s meeting with Amosun by the two monarchs is seen as a fence mending move by the governor.
