Kanye West, Kim Kardashian *Updated*

Socialite Kim Kardashian shocked shoppers at a sporting goods store in LA when she arrived wearing a Hermès Birkin handbag that was customized with paintings of women in various stages of undress. The artwork is similar to a painting on an insert inside Kanye’s grandiose album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kim posted a more detailed image of the artwork on her Instagram page. Kim and Kanye are parents of 6-month-old daughter, North West, whom they rarely see.

In response to the criticism of Kanye’s bizarre and widely reported radio interviews, Kanye made a vow of silence in 2014. It seemed almost too good to be true when Kanye said — during a 27-minute rant at his Toronto concert – that he planned to stop speaking negatively for “six months, at least.”
In reference to his salary dispute with footwear giant Nike that led to their parting of ways, Kanye said:
“I’m not gonna ever bring up Nike again. And the only way I’ll bring them up is in a positive light. Because I actually appreciate the opportunity to have been able to make my own shoe with them, and if I didn’t have the opportunity I wouldn’t have my deal I have with Adidas right now.”

In a move that disappointed sneakerheads everywhere, Nike canceled the online release of Kanye’s Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers. On Dec. 27 — the day of the scheduled release — Foot Locker tweeted: “Unfortunately, the Nike Air Yeezy 2 will not be releasing via http://Footlocker.com on Dec 27. We have no further updates at this time.”
It had been rumored that Nike didn’t know what to do with the surplus of the Yeezy “Red October” shoes after Kanye walked away from their business deal.
Update: According to HuffPo, the hand-painted Birkin was a Christmas gift from Kanye.
The 36-year-old rapper apparently settled on a large Hermès Birkin bag, hand-painted with naked ladies on it, which many are calling a “waste of Birkin.”
Kardashian revealed West’s gift on Instagram on Dec. 26, and was also spotted carrying the Birkin, which was painted by contemporary artist George Condo, while shopping at a sporting goods store in Los Angeles alongside her fiancé.
West is a huge fan of Condo’s work and previously commissioned the artist to create a series of paintings for the cover of his 2010 album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” And while the total cost of the one-of-a-kind gift is unknown, a Birkin bag of that size retails for around $16,000, while one of Condo’s paintings sold for $1.3 million at an auction in 2012, according to The Daily Mail.
