Court Sends Pastor Ize-Iyamu,Former PDP Governorship Candidate In Edo State Others To Prison

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the former PDP governorship candidate in Edo state, has been remanded in prison.

He was arraigned alongside others by the EFCC on 8 count charges of laundering the sum of N700 million - Others sent to prison with him are: Chief Dan Orbih, a former deputy governor, Mr, Lucky Imasuen, a former member of the House of Representatives, Tony Azegbemi and Efe Anthony A former PDP governorship candidate in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Chief Dan Orbih, a former deputy governor, Mr, Lucky Imasuen, a former member of the House of Representatives, 


Tony Azegbemi and Efe Anthony, have been remanded in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Benin-City, the Sun reports. Ize-Iyamu and others were arraigned on Thursday, May 24 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) on eight count charges of laundering the sum of N700 million.

It was reported that Justice P.I Adjokwu ordered that they be remanded in prison after rejecting a plea by counsel to Ize-Iyamu, Charles Edosomwan that they be kept in the custody of the EFCC. Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Plateau high court in Jos granted bail to a former governor of the state, Senator Jonah Jang. Justice D.D. Longi granted bail to Senator Jang and Yakubu Pam who are standing trial for alleged corruption.
