The EU Drugs Agency report used data from analysing wastewater near treatment plants for seven days, in 2017. Researchers were looking for evidence of four drugs – cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), amphetamine and methamphetamine (crystal meth) – in 56 European cities. They found people in Barcelona took an average of 965.2mg of the drug per 1000 residents each day. This was the highest since they started keeping records seven years ago, although people in Zurich beat this on the weekend.

Switzerland also had another four cities in the top ten, including Geneva and Basel, so it seems they really enjoy a bit of coke there. The only English city in the top ten came in fifth and it wasn’t London. People in Bristol took an average of 754.7mg of coke per 1000 residents each day. Other cities that made up the most popular destinations to use the drug, included Amsterdam and Dortmund. Netherlands apparently preferred MDMA though, with the country having three out of the top ten popular cities for the drug.

French couturier Hubert de Givenchy, a pioneer of ready-to-wear who designed Audrey Hepburn's little black dress in "Breakfast at Tiffany's," has died at age 91.

The house of Givenchy paid homage to its founder in a statement as "a major personality of the world of French haute couture and a gentleman who symbolized Parisian chic and elegance for more than half a century."

"He revolutionized international fashion with the timelessly stylish looks he created for Audrey Hepburn, his great friend and muse for over 40 years," the house of Givenchy said. "His work remains as relevant today as it was then."

A suspected rapist was arrested by security operatives on Friday, March 9th, while trying to rape a schoolgirl. The suspect was immediately descended upon as he was mobbed and beaten mercilessly by the people around before the police intervened.

The Nigerian Senate said today that Senator Shehu Sani was in order when he revealed the N45m quarterly allowance that each Senator takes home.

And it quickly added that the information about the emoluments of senators was never a secret.

Police in New York have arrested a teenage mom after her nine-month-old baby was found crawling on a busy roadway.

A disturbing video which was widely shared online shows the little girl attempting to cross a busy street before good Samaritans stopped their cars to attend to the crying baby.

One of the men then picks the baby up and takes the infant to his car, while a man is heard telling another man to call 911. Soon after the baby's mother showed up, and the distressed lady was heard in the video yelling: “That’s my baby! That’s my baby! Oh, my God. That’s my baby!”
