Video: How would you react? Watch How People React To Two Men Holding Hands In Street In London

?

This is what happened when two male radio presenters walked down a street in Luton holding hands.
Iain Lee and Justin Dealey, from BBC Three Counties radio, had hoped to receive a more enlightened reception but the response was, sadly, quite different.
Residents gave the pair strange looks and made comments as the pair walked hand-in-hand down the street.
The inspiration for the social experiment came after a gay caller to their show said he’d been the victim of homophobic abuse in Luton. And the radio DJs appeared to confirmed the prejudice of some of the locals as they made their way through the centre of town.
‘We’ve walked about three or four minutes and we’ve had looks, we’ve definitely had looks,’ said Dealey.
Lee added a man had ushered his child away when he saw them approaching.

Later in the video, the radio presenters manage to corner and speak to a teenage boy who appeared to make a negative remark when he saw them.
‘I thought it was disgusting…I just think it’s wrong for two men, I just think it’s disgusting in my opinion,’ said the teen, when asked why he made the comment.
The boy’s mother explained: ‘He doesn’t obviously agree with homosexuality. It’s got a stigma. He’s a teenage boy.’
