Time Magazine on Saturday refuted the claim by US President Donald Trump that he turned down their request for a photoshoot and interview as they prepare to choose ther Time’s “Man of the Year”.
Trump had claimed that he had turned down the request after the magazine could not confirm that he would be conferred with the award.
The Time, in a tweet, refuted the claim and said it does not comment on its choice until publication.
They tweeted: “The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.”
The magazine had last year conferred the award on Trump who has had a rocky relationship with the media since his inauguration as the President of the United States. He has taken to calling them “Fake News” anytime news unfavourable to him is printed
